Was reading the post game of the Habs loss last night. Maybe I'm over-reading, but it kinda sounded like Montembault was trashing his own team a bit.

>>We went back to the way we were playing a couple games ago. They were waiting for us, and they made us pay for it,” said goaltender Samuel Montembeault, who was pulled after conceding five goals on 25 shots.

"We turned the puck over and made some mistakes in coverage in our own end. We’re the ones that caused this by playing badly in the second and it’s a shame because I think I was doing well in the first period.”<<

"We caused this by playing badly but I think I was doing well in the 1st"? Not very team-like and comes across a selfish thing to say if you ask me. Like I said maybe I'm reaching but....

I’m sure if Laine was healthy he’d would be able to turn that team around

Another useless, random trade that just weakens the asset cupboards even more. What is the point of trading a future 4th for a guy that won’t make a difference. Dubas is such a clown. Pittsburgh should’ve started rebuilding a few years ago

4th round pick three drafts out? Probably a waste of a pick. But also a reasonable enough gamble to see if anything comes of it at that price.

Atlantic is shit right now. Panthers are 12th in the league, after them it’s Buffalo at 16, Boston 17, TB 18, and the rest of the usual bottom feeders at the bottom. This is our chance. 2021 all over again. Leafs need to finish 1st and get to at least the ECF.

Dubas had no control to rebuild. They were gping to try to win with Sid and Malkin one more time.

What are they winning? The lottery?
They will win nothing. They just were never going to rebuild until Sid decides he wants to move on or hangs them up.

I have mixed feelings about the whole situation.

Crosby, Malkin and Letang brought 3 cups to Pit and I understand why they want to retire there. But they are hurting the future fans of Pit for years by trying to be competetive when their window has been nailed shut.

Tomasino is not a bad move though. Former firat round pick who is still 23 for a 4th. Pit had 10 picks in the draft. Taking a flyer on Tomasino will not hurt them. It won't help but they still need guys that play on their roster

Them refusing to move them is going to result in Pittsburgh getting relocated :sarcasm:

The Avs are losing 5-1 @ Tampa, still in the first period.
Lightning are a very bipolar team. They have big blowout wins against Colorado x2, NJD x2, and have also beaten Winnipeg, Washington, Vegas etc but have lost games to St.Louis, Ottawa, Philadelphia etc.

Wait... That sounds kind of familiar
