That's not a high bar to clear now is it?

They might have become better defensively as a team, but that doesn't mean the defense is good.
No but that wasn't my point lol

They've improved defensively while taking a step back offensively. RNH isn't a 100 point player this year, Kane has regressed, they wanted to trade Foegele at the deadline and Henrique has woefully underwhelmed since his arrival. More so than previous years, if you neutralize their first line, you win.

You'd think after all these years of playoff failure and Draisaitl having the contract he has they'd have been able to find some offensive depth by now.

Meh, I disagree. Their forward corps is pretty good. It's just that their defence sucks ass, and Holland did nothing to fix it.
Their forward corps is amongst the worst of all current playoff teams if you take away each team's top line. Once you get past 97, 29 and 18 there is hardly any talent.

I actually think their depth is pretty good, when Draisaitl isn’t on the top line. When they load up the 1st line, their bottom-9 doesn’t scare you.

The Oilers have a good team, anybody in the West is a threat, honestly.

I think Edmonton is a little less scary than last year though, because McDavid and Draisaitl are not quite at the form they were at before.

How is Columbus an NHL team honestly. I don't remember the Avs going periods of play getting outshot 34-4 in 2016-2017. They were bad but not this embarrassingly bad. Columbus isn't even last in the league.

What a rancid hockey team.

RNH has gotten his shit pushed in by JTC and Blueger in consecutive playoff years. At ES when he isn't playing with McDavid or Draisatl he's basically a rich man's Jost.

The Jackets are awful. I’d argue they’re the worst team in the league at the current moment. No heart at all.

The Sharks say hold my beer

Jets look more like the team I thought they were. Bowness always gets way more out of rosters than he should. Lol. He’s been away from his team for a while, but still.

I get the team wants to win the Central and home ice is important throughout the playoffs but in reality Winnipeg or Dallas would be my two preferred first round matchups.

With things going the way they are, I want to avoid the Predators and would prefer them creating havoc in the Pacific, so at this point I just hope the boys continue to roll and win the West and face Vegas in the first round - never thought I'd say that.

But i think Vegas is vulnerable in the 1st round even if their players return. Hertl is on a new team and Stone will be rusty so I think if we pounce on them in the first couple of games it will decide the series.

Nashville might pass Winnipeg honestly
5 points behind with 11 games left, and it doesn't look like they're going to lose again the rest of the season. Saturday's game is going to be massive. If we don't win that one Nashville might end up nipping at our heels by season's end, because they don't have a lot of difficult games left on their schedule.
