He's honest... to a fault, actually. That's why he gets results. People respect the hell out of it at first. They truly appreciate that they know where they stand with Torts. The issue is he never lets them forget about where exactly they stand with him. That level of honesty and demand from the coach ends up burning a locker-room out quicker than other methods.

This is where Bednar does such a great job. He seems to keep everything between him and the players. He very, very rarely calls players out negatively in public and when he does he's usually throwing the entire team under the bus not just one or two players specifically.
I love Torts for the brutal honestly and the neverending drama but I never want him anywhere NEAR my team.

Leon might be lazier than Mikko. Actually he makes Mikko look like prime Mike Peca.

Nick Suzuki is such a smart hockey player.

Another guy I hated to see the Avs go up against but secretly always wished he played for us.

Yeah, I might've wanted him here during the Sacco years because let's face it, Torts' teams usually start the games on time. But yeah, even though he's neo-oldschool (he doesn't play games, he's just burns folks out quickly) I wouldn't want him any near this team today.

I don't think Bednar gets enough credit for the coach he has become. He's quietly become one of the longest tenured coaches in the NHL and shows no signs of slowing down here. You can see this team is still giving him everything. They just need to zero in on eliminating these god awful turnovers.

Mack needs to put up some points on this home stand. Kucherov got 3 tonight and now tied with Nate, and the game isn’t over yet

Starting to look like a pretty nasty situation for the Avs playoffs.

Either win the division and get Vegas in round 1, or lose the division and still get WPG or Dallas in round 1.
Discounting the possibility of Nashville (not that it’s much better)? Looks like they’re going to run away with WC1 so unless we not only win the Central but also pull ahead of Van for the West, it seems more likely we’d draw WC1 (Nashville) than WC2 (Vegas/LAK/Minny)

Nashville isn't losing another game this year. Brunette has got that team rolling and drinking his koolaid.
Very scary actually.

What a shitshow. We do need that home advantage though.

Idgaf. Regulation Vegas loss, baby.

Minnesota now 3 back and plays Vegas twice let's f***ing go.
Shame we didn't go overtime vs Blues.

BTW is Tarasov supposed to be any good? Every time I watch him he’s letting in at least one really bad goal.

I still think people are overrating NSH. In their last 15 games since Feb 17th they have only played 4 teams that are in a playoffs spot. In their defense they beat all 4 of them but two of them (VGK and LA) were playing really bad when they played them. The other two were the Avs and the Jets. The Avs were playing very bad on the road at the time, missing Nuke, and RyJo was part of the lineup. The Jets don't score a lot of goals for a top team (they are 11th in GF) and they were missing Vilardi who is an important piece of their offense.

NSH has been playing a lot of average and bad teams lately. It is still a very good stretch but IMO their success has been overblown.
