That probably would not be enough to terminate a contract lmao. Must've been something pretty serious though:

I obviously don't know what happened but there's a good chance that Perry is a "victim" of the Hawks trying to avoid any possible scandal.

Chances are if that happened 5 years ago or to another team it would be different.

The only player on the Avs that would get the Hawks to listen is Makar.
I don't think even they would listen. Age, contract, being their own pick and all that stuff.

Well this makes me uncomfortably nervous.

Darling has his reasons there and they aren't exactly state secrets. Much like anything there is good and bad to the player's assistance program... it is usually not a first resort sort of thing and things usually have to get pretty bad to get there. By the time that many players, especially those with the issues Darling had, get to that point, the natural threat of contract termination exists.

Think of the player's assistance program like HR.

We don't know what happened with Nuke

We don't know what happened with Jim Montgomery in Dallas

We will never know what happened with Perry either

These things just don't leak.

Rainbows and unicorns when everything is fine offering free ice cream every other week, but then turn into North Korea when a complaint is filed and they fire everyone afterwards?

Bob McKenzie and all the other top insiders definitely know, they just ain't going to go passed that red line to lose their sources.

Kinda yeah... they are there to protect the league and player's association more than protect the players. That doesn't mean they can't help or be useful... just know that they are not 100% just for the best interests of the players. If a player relapses a bunch and is an asshole (like Darling was known as early in his career... he's changed a lot btw), they have a limit.

Which is basically an antithesis to the whole point of journalism. Everyone also knew about Kyle Beach, they just chose not to report about it.
Kind of. But I think it also is situational. Obviously no one knows the Perry story but there could always be a reason it's not being publicly reported.

HR exist to protect employers. They work hand in hand with each other.

They aren't some 3rd party in the middle between workers and corporate or anything like that.

Whenever something happens they'll do exclusively what's best for corporate.

HR is trash that only protects one side, while the other is left to suffer.

Two gold dubloons on Perry getting sauced and walking to the game in Columbus, someone smelled it and press boxed his ass until they could terminate

I don't think "the rumor" is grounds for contract termination

Something super fishy is going on if all of the organizations, Chicago waives you...

Bedards mom??

The players don't know what happened. Which means he probably did/said something to a staff member.
Chicago players never heard of abuse before. Oh wait..

Mikko + Byram for Bedard who says no?
Bedard's mom won't say no to Byram and Mikko. That's for sure.
