I'm sorry, but these insiders are just making themselves look stupid here. So squash the rumour then, we know that you know what happened. You're just afraid of your connections instead of doing actual reporter work. This is the reason why it took Rick Westhead to uncover the Kyle Beach story, even Friedman told afterwards that he heard about the story but chose not to report about it. With the Hawks, considering they are terminating a contract, there might be legal implications on why they are vague. Understandable at this point I think.
However, that does not excuse the beat writers and supposed "NHL insiders". They absolutely know what happened, and it should be their job to report it. That outburst from Seravalli is hilarious.

What if the Blackhawks paid them to keep their mouth quiet? Totally possible, to pay and then sign a contract to never talk about it.
I don't really see how the Blackhawks would terminate a contract for simply being a "bad influence" on the younger pack of players except if there was truly hazing involved. Hazing is probably the most probable version of why he's being terminated, but banging Bedard's mum is a much more fun storyline for all of us.

He didn’t bang any teammates mom, lmao.
He used “leadership” tools and mechanisms that are against the players agreements. Most stay quiet about this but the Hawks younger players really didn’t want him around anymore.

If teams really want to push it, there are a lot of things that are 'normal' that they could void SPCs for. They just don't for performance reasons and to avoid a NHLPA grievance. Here the fact that the Hawks are willing to take that chance means they want him no where near the team.
The jokes are 100% worth the contract though.

A question to ponder if you're the Blackhawks. If there is a legal implication of not denying these rumours, is it better to take the consequences of breaking those OR not protect Bedard?
