He's always been vastly overrated.

The Hurricanes and their fans thought they were getting the second coming of Alex Ovechkin.

In reality what they got is a slightly less offensive but better defensive Vladimir Tarasenko. Which is a perfectly fine player, but not a franchise altering talent you hope for at 2nd Overall.
