Of course, this is all just completely unfounded gossip at this point, but it's fun to speculate.

Oh, I know it would cause a huge locker room thing, with everyone ripping on the player whose mom got speared by Perry. Definitely an athlete testosterone thing.

Sounds like Perry took his Locker Room Leader role a bit too seriously.

I understand some younger players there had serious issues with him. Don’t know if hazing or abuse or just dickheadness related but he’s not a big favourite there among the younger players.

That's not true though. Perry is loved by young players. I know that he was loved in Montreal and a great locker room leader. His current head coach was assistant coach there at the time BTW.

In fact Richardson is more than likely the one who asked his GM to get him for his locker room.

He has looked awful this season, no idea what's going on. But the Rangers are not in a hurry to make panic move on him. They sit on the top of the league, they can wait and see.

That team as presently constructed needs three things to happen:

1) Kaprizov to play at an MVP level
2) Supporting cast to play WAY above their exepected capabilities (Hartman, Zuccarello, Johansson, Gaudreau, etc)
3) Top-10 goaltending

They aren't getting any of that right now.

The dead cap hits of Parise and Suter caught up to them this season it seems. Supporting cast that far exceeded expectations last season has fallen back to earth.
