If gudbranson can make 4 million someone kind find something they like there
Their farm? I'm not sure one exists.

Someone in this thread said exactly that, which prompted my original post. Who knows if they actually believe it.Does anyone actually think they’re missing the playoffs?
I think most people think the Panthers are notably worse right now but I'm not sure many think they're 35pts worse.
It sounds a bit like sour grapes to me:
"We should trade for Tkachuk!" "Tkachuk would put us over the top!" "Tkachuk is the player we need!"
"Tkachuk was traded to Florida? They're screwed. Won't even make the playoffs."
Though it matters what goes the other way in the final trade, no?
I mean a lot of folks here likely would have traded Nylander 1 for 1 for the guy. Moving Marner + Sandin + 1st for him probably would be a different reaction ect
Just a quick reminder. Up until the 2021-22 season when both Tkachuk and Nylander had breakout seasons, their career production was pretty similar:
Regular Season (Excluding 2021-22)
Matthew Tkachuk 349 GP 278 PTS 0.79 PPG
William Nylander 358 GP 263 PTS 0.73 PPG
The other thing that gets lost in the shuffle is Tkachuk is especially bad in the playoffs.
Playoffs (Including 2021-22)
Matthew Tkachuk 27 GP 15 PTS 0.55 PPG
William Nylander 39 GP 30 PTS 0.76 PPG
Florida didn't get young Eric Lindros here.
Interesting with parayko and werenski
Werenski will be gold in a couple years when columbus rounds out.. and now he has a great transition winger to work with
Weird no bobrovsky or benn
What I'm interested in is who is the setup guy in Florida.
Last year it was Huberdeau.
For Tkachuk it was Gaudreau.
Wonder if Panthers would do Barkov and 2026 1st. for marner? j/k
And usually was driving his own line with lesser players.Barkov is also an excellent, excellent playmaker.
And usually was driving his own line with lesser players.
So they are now a one line team if Barkov is going to be feeding Tkachuk.
If Barkov was his own line, then Huberdeau was the other.
Tkachuk to have the same sort of set-ups in Florida will be playing with someone not in (Huberdeau, Gaudreau).
Maybe they can sign Kadri to a big deal and spend half the cap on a few forwards. I hear it’s a solid plan.So they are now a one line team if Barkov is going to be feeding Tkachuk.

It is possible and is Florida really better if Tkachuk scores +100p with Barkov, but they don't have talent like Huberdeau in second line. Last season their offense was their secret and now they gave up perfect line driver and also lost good transition defender, that could boost offense behind second or even sometimes third line.Looks like a potential setup for a regression of offense from Tkachuk
So who is in on Toews?
He wants out.

Chicago Blackhawks Jonathan Toews | TSN
Entering his 15th season with the Chicago Blackhawks, Jonathan Toews does not sound interested in being a part of the team's long-term rebuild.www.tsn.ca
What and where makes sense?
He owed 2.9 cash for this year, retention for the Hawks shouldn't be an issue.
So while 5mm cap hit is probably too much for 34 year old Toews, the cash is low.
Just throwing out but would someone and would he be interested in an extension at an appropriate rate?
Seems like an expensive double retention candidateSo who is in on Toews?
He wants out.
