Yep, going to need a solid alibi, like being out of the country at the time.
I thought it also includes CHL players who were at the gala the day of. So the 8 players might not all have been on Team Canada? I might be misunderstanding?

I disagree, I think we have a pretty unique cap situation. I don't think too many teams in our position have a cap distribution like ours. But I know you have strong opinions which don't often waver, so I'll leave it at that.

Where things went wrong for us, are explained with two items.

1./ Our young stars hit their potential before their second contracts
2./ Covid flattened the cap. Without Covid, I'd estimate the Cap to be around $90 million, based upon the average cap increase since the 13/14 season. We'd be in quite the different situation if the cap was $90 mil.

Warning on the link, some of the accusations are pretty bad.

Hockey Canada and the CHL were named as defendants in the case, as were eight unnamed CHL players “including but not limited to members of the Canada U20 Men’s Junior Hockey Team.”

So yes, it could include players not on Team Canada.

I am no Dubas hating Facebook Uncle. I think he was handed an empty farm, a pissed star ending his ELC, and the COVID situation.

With that being said, many teams have faced the COVID crunch.

Imagine if I told my customers "hey sorry, you aren't getting your stuff because we have some internal issues, and the supply chain, etc". They don't care. It's up to my org to adjust on the fly and deliver on time.

Okay thought so. I see everyone talking about how the list is twindling on the people from the team denying but there’s a chance all 8 weren’t on the team.

..and despite those challenges, we had the highest regular season point total in franchise history. Of course the focus is on the playoff loss, as it should be, but I'd suggest that the team has adjusted on the fly.

Indeed. I mean technically, it appears based on the wording, that it was somewhere between two and seven.

I am not going to go down the rabbit hole of another Dubas debate. We have different ideas of what success is. Either way, either he will finally shed his negative legacy this year, or we will be discussing the new guy.

Customers are being told that today in many areas.
Try buying a hybrid, let alone a plug-in hybrid or EV.
Worse still, people are being told COVID is over.

And how many teams have done better since the covid crunch hit?

They could have fit him in at that rate if they dealt Kerfoot and Holl

Disappointed the Leafs couldn’t get in on that
Now add Sandin into the contract mix. How does it look now? Gotta carry 7D

I know the division isn’t that strong, but….

the division is horrific.

They could easily finish first again next year if they get a top liner back for Tkachuk and use their capspace to add some more.

I mean... if they are counting on Phil Kessel to be that Free Agent they use their cap space on..... or Stastny...

FYI - just picked up Leafs vs Blue Jacket tickets for Feb 10 in Columbus. They went on sale today.
Anyone looking for a Leaf game road trip it's a great place to watch a game and the drive is reasonable.

1) They hired Dubas
2) Dubas didn't/won't adapt
