Oilers have a really good team. Lots of speed and a heavy team too. In the regular season, they can outscore their defensive lapses and goaltending issues.

Question is will they be able to survive in the playoffs tight checking and less PPs?
The fact that McD is tiers better than anyone in the league really mask a lot of problems with the Oilers. Ekholm is a great addition, I would say the best Dman addition in the TDL this season. Some is also overlooking that Ekholm replaced Barri, and I think removing Barri from Oilers lineup is already an addition from subtraction. Kane also came back from absence.
I think the Oilers is a better team than some are giving them credits for.

It takes a much more egregious infraction to draw a penalty, but there aren't less PPs overall. I believe the last couple playoffs there has been slightly more PP time per game than the regular season.

Canucks modus operandi during this final stretch here is baffling. Complete opposite of the 2015-16 Leafs that saw them shut down everyone that could've helped us win and playing the young guns a ton. All of this effort just so they can look at their fans at the end of the season and say "no trust us guys, we're right there."

Mcdavid dominated the kings last year.

He will do it again and the oilers win in 7
The Oilers just barely got by a young Kings team that just got into the playoffs. It took McDavid carrying the entire team into the 2nd round to beat them. This Kings team is like significantly better than last year. Kings in 6.

Oilers are also a better team this year

Deeper at forward and Ekholm has been a top pairing D who has stabilized their back end

Would love to see the kings win. Not a fan of edm lol

It would be a helluva series for sure.

One thing to note is that Korpisalo is 4-0-1, .929, 1.77GAA since joining the Kings including a win over the Avs.

Looking like am underrated move so far.

Having doughty should help as well.

The Kings will need 1 of Kopitar/Danualt to forget offense and jist try to limit Mcdavid.

If they hold him to 8 or 9 pts i think the kings win in 5 or 6

If Korpisalo goes 2020 version then they win easily with Mcdavid being shut down

Kings relative are more better this year than edmonton is better this year. Having doughty is massive, fiala and vilardi now as well, and the defencemen anderson durzi spence lived it last year and can only benefit.. gavrikov added as well

I still see edmonton trotting out a rookie (who will probably be exposed taking penalties) and bouchard who can make some real smert plays under pressure

You can basically target one dman each pairing and lay into them and get your turnovers

Kings were also missing a top 6 forward in Arvidsson during the playoffs last year.

They are absolutely loaded up front, have decent D, and Korpisalo finally gives them NHL calibre goaltending. They used to be known as slow and heavy; now they're fast and heavy lol

yea Tampa is playing Decent, but Carolina is playing their 4th game in 6 nights against some good teams, so id say a bit of both lol

Did you see Tampa upping their dirtbag game with that scrum.

I hope our boys dont take any crap from tampa in the playoffs. Absolutely loved Rielly beating the crap out of Rutta last year.

I just hope Keefe don’t open his mouth before the series with we need to be physical and play tough like last year and end up having the PK and Campbell bailed the team out in the first with all the penalties.

We 'missed' the playoffs in 2020 didn't we? Not that it really matters but how does that year officially go in the books?
The entire bubble tournament was counted as playoff games, including the qualification round, and the round robin games for the top seeds.
