Habs with 8 goals
so far...
Today I would like Boston, Rangers, Buffalo and Pittsburg to win
Oilers down a goal; they dive and get a PP.
what an absolute JOKE
Bergeron and Krejci are playing for a total of 8m, not 3.5m, and they're cheaper because they're in their late 30s.Bergeron and Krejci are willing to play for a total of 3.5 mil because of the culture they built to win a cup.
Bergeron 2.5 million this yrBergeron and Krejci are playing for a total of 8m, not 3.5m, and they're cheaper because they're in their late 30s.
Bergeron and Krejci are not playing for 3.5m though. They're playing for 8m, and will make that much this season. Some of the cap implications just defer to next year. It wasn't so much a culture-driven sacrifice as it was Boston just being able to play games with the cap because they are uniquely on 35+ contracts and Boston is on their last breath and don't care about next year. Most teams, including the Leafs, aren't in that very specific position to be able to do that. It's weird to try and hold that against a team and their culture, especially when that culture has actually been able to bring in a bunch of older veterans with connections to Toronto for league minimum.Bergeron 2.5 million this yr
Krejci 1 million this yr
They did this to win a cup this yr

I don't think they're doing even that. Pretty sure they still get paid this year. It's just the cap charge that gets deferred. They are getting paid like 8 million for this year and are deferring payment for a year.
There cap hit isI guess I’m wondering what your point is…..
You are falsely suggesting they are only getting paid a total of 3.5 million for this year.
They are not. They are getting paid like 8 million for this year and are deferring payment for a year.
They are still hoping to compete next year right? That’s money they can’t use to sign Orlov bertuzzi etc.
If Bergeron came back next year and signs again. For no SB
Are you counting the 2.5 he isn’t getting this year to his AAV?
There cap hit is
Bergeron 2.5 million
Krejci 1 million
BeverYes, we should all agree that is what is happening.
Next season the Cap will be reduced by the rest of this year's compensation.
I wonder if they'll return in another defer-it-forward, or will they actually pull a Giordano?
One never knows .Yes, we should all agree that is what is happening.

Yes, anyone can have a signing bonus. This year.
For next year. Their cap hit for THIS years performance is 4.5 million. Without getting a single game or point.
If you bought a car for 100k and you only had to put 10k down now and pay 90k next year….. how much was the car?
They aren’t getting a discount. They are deferring payment. Next year they are starting with a -4.5 million cap hit
Also. Can Bergeron even take a SB contract next year?
Im not even sure why he could this year? Krecji makes sense
But can all 35 plus take one?
Yes, anyone can have a signing bonus.
And all 35+ one-year contracts can sign a performance bonus.
Why would it make sense for Krejci to be able to have one but not Bergeron?

They seriously only have 13 players signed and only $5.5 million to spend? Not questioning you I just had no idea it was that badBever
One never knows .
I would think that the pasta changes things.
They have 6 forwards 6 defensemen and 1 goaltender signed.
They have 10.5 mill to spend - ( Bergeron and Krejci 5 mill defered money )
5.5 mill left over
this summer should be fun
Imagine Bergeron becoming a Ufa
Only hoping they don't win the cup.
Ullmark doesn't have a long track record and the pressure is going to be massive.
