If we keep MM/WN/AM for their entire careers and in their last years are still around, still effective, they too may decide to take a hometown discount for a realistic chance at the cup. To expect young men in their prime to o such a thing is not realistic. I wouldn't expect it from anyone at least.

But when Auston and Mitch are 37 years old I would have a hope that they might do something similar provided the team has a realistic shot at winning it all

No one cares about the actual salary. $3.5 mill for 1C and 2C in cap space is what 31 other teams need to compete with this year.

Everyone really confused about bonuses for players. 3.5 +3 = @6.5 mil and they got the 1C -2C really really cheap. But its 3.5 this year -year we might face them again.

Did we ever call Matthews 16M player? Thats what we paid him- two years in a row.

In their primes? Thornton was one of the best set up men ever.

Even if you couldn't compare, the fact that older players come here with a winning, team firat mentality is fact.

Bergeron and Krecji have already won and have made a fortune.

It is not very team friendly to cripple the team next year with dead cap for their bonuses
