People acting like Kane was washed are crazy. He didn't just suddenly forget how to play hockey. He still had over 90 points last year.

He's likely just not motivated at all since the start of the season, and doesn't have anyone near his talent level to play with on that roster. The last few years he at least still had debrincat.

10 points in his last 4 games!

I really hope he doesn't land in the Eastern Conference.

Mason Marchment started the year with 3 G and 3 A for 6 points in his first 4 games this season.

In the 54 games since then, he has 6 G and 12A. And he has zero goals in his last 28 games. Heck, even Malgin has 2G in his last 4 games.

At the end of the day, this ended up being one big nothing burger. A trade of 2 fringe NHL'ers, one who had a 3 week hot streak on a team that had everyone with unsustainably freakish scoring, and one who could never get traction.

Now one of these players is totally unmovable and has a full NMC and 3 years left at $4.5 million AAV. Ouch.

What I saw earlier was someone disinterested in putting effort into the game.

He had zero to play for.

He knew they had no intention of winning, and he's already got paid.

Now after the Rangers landed Tarasenko he's had to wake up and audition for teams.

Pretty much how I see it too. Coming into this season he knew the team was going to be God awful, and they had just traded away his buddy debrincat. Now that he's seeing teams make moves seems like he's gotten that fire back and wants to play some meaningful hockey.

Would rather the Islanders as Sorokin can steal a series against Bruins and then have our boys eliminate them and silence all the Lou Vs Dubas stuff once and for all.

That would be great, but frankly, I don't see it this year. They were more beatable in previous seasons.

I like our chances vs Bruins but they are too experienced to lose to the Islanders especially this year imho. Again not saying they are unbeatable but their core despite being older is not slowing down - Bergeron Krejci Marchand playing like its 2010..Pasta having a career year. Debrusk playing the best hockey of his career. They added Hall, Zacha, Lindholm...

Oh and they got Vezina goalie in Ulmark...

I remember when they sign him, I was sure it was Cap space well wasted with Swayman ready to take the lead, but boy was I wrong again.

The hockey gods can be cruel.

He rode a bit of puck luck longer than average for some offense. But it shouldn't be shocking that a guy wasn't going to be able to produce at a higher rate at the NHL than he had in the AHL over the long term
