The first two goals in the Pens/Isles were just about the strangest I've ever seen.
And within two minutes in the same game!
And within two minutes in the same game!
They dug deep tonight for sure.Oh man,
The Islanders don't have their first for the 4th year in a row, after acquiring Horvat they are the oldeat team in the league and they look wildly outclassed by the Pens right now in a not quite must win for them.
That was leafs fans about 7 or 8 years ago lol.Sorry I can't post it, but someone screenshotted this this hilarious tweet from a sens fan saying him team was only 4 points out of being 3 points out of a wild card spot and that meant his team was good.

For 10 f***ing years during quite a bit of my 20s... leafs made it one time and lost in horrible fashion.
I don't feel sorry for the person who said it but I can understand it lol. You know they're a real fan at least.
Well they're in year 6 now of bullshit records so yeah they're catching up. They haven't been close to playoffs either so true enough.Well, the leafs were a playoff team, at least until late February and March.
Don't think it compares to the stink of the Sens.
Lol right?Imagine retiring Chris Neils number.
No they didn't. They're 11th in the conference. And yet they moved ahead of Washington into a playoff spot.
They're retiring the jersey because of person that was wearing it, not because of the stats lineImagine retiring Chris Neils number.
Eh just seems like a ridiculously low bar. Like a player like Neil can be celebrated without retiring his number forever. Like if Darcy Tucker played with us for a decade his number isn't going to rafters lolThey're the jersey because of person that was wearing it, not because of the stats line
I get a ore purist stance, but, personally, I am okay with.
He did a lot for the team and the city and was part of a generation

Rockland here.....and agreed. He's beloved here.I live in Ottawa and the guy had an immense presence in the city. He still does. Incredibly beloved player on and off the ice.
It's funny how much Tucker is celebrated in Toronto for a few seasons played here, not even bringing a single cup. His number isn't retired but he's celebrated like it is.
It is shocking the number of people I know from Rockland-Clarence for how small it isRockland here.....and agreed. He's beloved here.
You probably know more people than me, and I have been here since 2008!It is shocking the number of people I know from Rockland-Clarence for how small it is![]()
I feel like a ring is more suitable than retiring that number but that just is me. I am not denying he had an impact but I feel like other things should be taken into considerations maybe? They're retiring the jersey because of person that was wearing it, not because of the stats line

Don't be silly. Tucker was just an incredibly popular player here. There has never been even the chatter of doing something like this for him. There is no justification for retiring a player like Neils number. You can celebrate players like him in other ways.I live in Ottawa and the guy had an immense presence in the city. He still does. Incredibly beloved player on and off the ice.

Played over 1000 games and his entire career with one Team. I would think any Team retires a players number under that scenario.Don't be silly. Tucker was just an incredibly popular player here. Um I am going to absolutely disagree with you there.Played over 1000 games and his entire career with one Team. I would think any Team retires a players number under that scenario.
Fair enough.Um I am going to absolutely disagree with you there.
If only we say we are always one win away from winning a round and another 3 winning rounds in the playoffs from the Cup. LolSorry I can't post it, but someone screenshotted this this hilarious tweet from a sens fan saying him team was only 4 points out of being 3 points out of a wild card spot and that meant his team was good.
Have the Islanders won a game since getting Horvat?
