watching the bruins/blues i think i finally understand how bruins always show up for playoffs

they are not giving anything to blues; keep them to the outside. solid defensive hockey; not attempting any offensive zone cheats.

they are already implementing playoff system so their players can be used to it by the time playoffs come around.

We should start playing tight defensively too so in playoffs we are not learning or just starting to play that way we are already in the mindset to play that way.

A regulation win on Thursday in Tampa will mathematically make it impossible for Tampa to catch us. A regulation loss leaves it more than a crack open.
Exactly. Hope the boys take care of business, put it to bed and rest some players in FLA and WSH. Then run the playoff lineup vs DET and play the Marlies vs BOS ;-)

And they have been silent ever since.

Sidenote: Oilers fans complaining about how flames Johnny G is a cherry picker yet Drai and McDavid do diddly squat in their own zone.

Pot calling the kettle black for sure.

he is leading the league in even strength points (he is one of only two players in the league with ppg or better even strength scoring; Matthews being the only other)

mcdavid and draisaitl's season isn't as impressive as what Gaudreau and Matthews have done IMO

Canes are really banking on Kotkaniemi .. just noticed in his first season with the Canes, he has 11 goals, 26 points in 65 games. He's averaging just over 11 minutes of ice time per game. He's getting second PP unit time as well and doesn't kill penalties. He's been strong on the draw when he takes them but has mostly been playing wing all season. Oh and he's shooting a career high 13.8%.

So they signed him to that offer sheet and have given him an 8-year deal for $4.8 million.

Has there ever been a less deserved max term contract? Like he's not very good.

Atlantic top 4 starting goalies over the last month:

Campbell:
6-0-1
GAA: 2.95
Save%: .906
GSAA/60: +.48

Vasy:
3-7-1
GAA: 2.98
Save%: .903
GSAA/60: -.15

Bobrovsky:

GAA: 3.07
Save%: .889
GSAA/60: -.34

Swayman:
5-4
GAA: 3.16
Save%: .886
GSAA/60: -.42

Campbell's looked the best of the bunch recently, despite Bobs perfect record with his team outscoring defensive/goalie issues.

Lets hope Jack gets hot for the playoffs and the rest stay cool.

Dermott scores his first for the Canucks. Nice to see. One of those players I can't dislike. Such a good kid

I'd view it very much as a 'hit or miss' deal. The term and AAV are good to great if he can become a top six forward. Conversely, the contract becomes an albatross if that upside never comes to fruition.
