GDT: Around the League - 2021/22

  • Xenforo Cloud will be upgrading us to version 2.3.5 on March 3rd at 12 AM GMT. This version has increased stability and fixes several bugs. We expect downtime for the duration of the update. Not to mention the completeless ruthless way they treat their players. Bit them in the ass this time

I think next season they'll be back as a top ish team. They've had a lot of big big long-term injuries. When healthy, that lineup should be hard to beat on paper.

With that said, like you said, they have been involved in a lot of blockbuster trades and signings. They need to calm down and let their players breathe. Pacioretty was on the block for a little while last year... I wonder if they revisit that this off-season.

The problem is that they currently have a projected cap hit in excess of $83 million for next season with only 15 signed.

They will have to dump a lot of salary. And none of that salary is enticing for other teams without significant adds.

Plus most of their long-term, big money contracts are for players who will be on the wrong side of 30 (save for Eichel and Theodore).

It's an unmitigated disaster.
