My biggest issue with the Chicago thing was that they gave him an ultimatum of a full investigation or resignation.

Following his resignation, he went on to assault teenagers.

Why they didn’t fire him, and cite the reason why, is beyond me.

This was 11 years ago. The way we deal with sexual assault is not the same. There is a heightened understanding now of sexual assault and it’s taken way more seriously now. That being said it’s sad they didn’t handle it properly it could have prevent others from assault.

This was 2010, not 1980…. Theo Fleury’s book was published in 2009 and sexual assault was literally at the forefront of the hockey world at that time.

I think it is without a doubt the Hawks should had handle it better, that also applies to NHL and NHLPA. The fact that Hawks dismissed it just a few months ago showed how f**k up is the system.
To me, I don’t know why Chevy and Q are still employ at this point bc Bowman and others resigned. Put it this way if Chevy and Q are still working for the Hawks, would they still be working? I don’t see how working in other organizations means they don’t need to take accountabilities.
They knew what happened and chose Winning over all else.

Exactly, even at that time in 2010 sexual assault cases weren’t as prevalent as they are now. The Metoo movement basically took off in 2017. That’s when these types of cases began getting more notoriety and press. Sexual assault against men was even more taboo and organizational (not only in sports but across all aspects of life) responses to sexual assault was no where near as reactive and responsive as they are now. It’s quite shameful

chevy isn’t getting fired, he was the Capologist. I’m not trying to be that guy that defends everyone, but this is the problem with cancel culture. Context matters. There are very specific people who could have done something according to organizational position and their given roles. Chevy may have been a voice in the room but he’s dealing with the Cap, there is no evidence that says he was against dealing with the issue immediately. Numerous insiders have come on radio today and substantiated this. Coach Q, Bowman and McDonough deliberately (evidence based) chose not to do anything, all 3 should have nothing to do with the NHL for life.

I keep reading they now have 4 players from those teams come out and say that the entire team knew. Did these players saying this speak up for Beach at all back then? Doesn't really seem fair that they want to put all this blame on Toews, Kane, Seabrook and the other leaders on that team and they get ignored just because they came out and said that everyone on the team knew. Again though, I don't really know the full story here so I'm just curious why everybody is ignoring these guys saying that everyone knew about it when I haven't heard anything about these players saying this do anything to help Beach back then.

That doesn’t make it okay for the MGT to say, let’s talk about this after the playoffs.
Saw what Torts said in an interview today and he was right on, not one person step up and said, this is wrong.

The question is, did Chevy knew.
It seemed like he did. Now, I agree that if others MGT said, they will handle it, then what is Chevy going to do.
But why did he lied about knowledge of this back when the investigation was started.
Also, like I said, if Chevy is still working with the Hawks, would he still be working or resigned like Bowman?
This is not about cancel culture, it is about accountability. There are consequences for all actions and in this case inactions.
This is not some witch-hunt either.
A lot of parties did absolutely nothing.
To me how the NHLPA literally said, there will be no investigation bc there is nothing to see here is by far the biggest joke in this.

Sopel and Boynton did said they spoke with Vincent-skills coach about it back then.
To me, what Kane, Toews and Keith said were fine except the part about Bowman and others. This is just not the time to say those guys made a mistake but they are great people….
It is like that reporter who twitted the article about Kobe rape accusations literally hours after Kobe’s death bc she wanted to remind people a complete history of Kobe.
Just not the time to do it.

I am genuinely curious about something: Why did Kyle and the other black ace were socializing with Brad in the first place? Why were they bringing a woman from a bar to his place and having sex with her there? I am baffled.

It’s bad news all around and I’m not making light but it’s good news for the Atlantic Division if he’s fired.

NHL is always one step behind everything.
The fact that they let Q coached last night and then shield him from post game presser said it all.
Pretty sure they were like, think it is okay for Q to coach, bc major US networks had not pick up the news yet...
Then go, 'WTF is TSN doing with revealing John Doe, but thats still okay b/c Panthers is playing in Boston, US fans probably won't be able to see it. Beside we could be the only undefeated team in the league after tonight.'
During the games and the chants: 'This is a mistake, going to hide Q from post game now.'

Anyhow, not surprised Q is gone.
