Man, Minnesota just steamrolling the Blues. Wow. That was a statement win.

Oilers are winning that series in 5.

Unless Mike Smith finds a way to dummy up the proceedings.
And just to put a point on Tampa. Yes, they've won back to back, mostly on the back of a Superstar goalie and some shady but legal cap shenanigans. But frankly, I'm not impressed and I never have been, Let's not forget those two cups came in a screwy shortened season with 24 teams in a playoff bubble with no travel time, followed by a shortened season in a pandemic with messed up divisions. Sometimes its all about timing. That being said, they've won 2 chips and we haven't won a round since the early 2000s so I'll just shut up now. But I'm still not that impressed...

Tampa was legitimately good over those two runs, though. Definitely more deserving than the previous 3 cup winners (STL, WSH, PIT).

They've had a superstar at every position, not just in net.

Colorado is the only team that may potentially go up 3-0. Keep that context when considering the Leafs are 2-1. They're in a good place, with preserved home ice advantage

Imagine an Oilers fan saying this about the Leafs… would never happen. Ever.

Leaf fans>>>>Oil fans
If this was 10 years ago, I would have been very, very happy with the Oilers winning. I liked the Jets too! HF boards screwed up my perception of those teams. After seeing the unconditional hatred those people have with our team (and city), I started hating them too. Pity.

Yup, I followed the West in many of their playoff runs, until I joined this forum. There was no reason to dislike the other conference; until, you see the idiocy of their fanbase and putrid dislike for the Leafs. Canadian fanbases at this point should support eachother for a cup to finally come North, the entire country needs a break. When their teams go out, they follow hockey only until the Leafs are out. It's very strange. Heck, on a good day their attention is on the Leafs instead of their own situations.

I found it very odd that when the Jets came back that the fans were booing relentlessly at guys like Phaneuf and Kessel in the Leafs first game there.

Weird flex.

Gonna be real interesting to see if Florida’s penchant for comebacks in the regular season can translate in the playoffs. It didn’t materialize in Game 1 but one game is hardly an indication of anything.

Always thought the p***y cats were fraudulent. That D isn’t nearly good enough and frankly neither is the goaltending. Bob is such an enigma. Anyone counting on jumbo to provide stability and leadership has been duped. We all saw it last year here.

Not so easy playing in the playoffs when you actually have some expectations on you.

The Leafs have an opportunity here to clear the two time champ and have a team clear the top squad in the conference. The other brackets are weak. They can't have another year lost where elements are aligning like this. The only thing to make this better is if any team at all in the West poses a threat to Colorado.

They're very boom or bust, which is tough in a playoff structure that needs consistency. Colorado is by far the biggest threat in the league, coming through a cake walk conference.

If we win this series, we’ve got a pretty easy road to the SCF IMO.

Florida is showing that they were paper tigers propped up by OT points and miraculous comebacks which are rare in the playoffs.

Keep waiting, I'd provide you a list, and you'd argue I was wrong... we'd have a difference of a option, so I'm not wasting my time on something pointless. He isn't first line quality anymore. Have a good night.

Here is a list from NHL.com for you though. Fantasy hockey top 50 center rankings
That’s a fantasy hockey list. Malkin was slated to miss about half the season since his surgery last June, so obviously was not listed as a top fantasy pickup.

It seems you cannot provide a legitimate list of 32 Centers that are better players than current Malkin, which indicates that he is still a first line caliber C.

Somehow Florida was a top 3 cup favourite despite winning no playoff series with their core but the leafs are the GOAT chokers who can’t be considered for anything until they prove something. Washington is easily the weakest team in the east and somehow Florida is getting outplayed by them.

Be great for winner of Leafs/Lightning to meet Washington sans Tom Wilson in round #2.
Leafs would decimate Washington’s slow ass team.
