HFOil just had a collective orgasm with Tippet fired.

One would think with the two greatest players ever and in such a weak division (their words not mine) that the Coilers would be gunning for the division title.

Watch McDavid's body language. That kid makes it look like he hates being an Oiler.

Where are the Rangers D when you need them? Poor McDavid needs a punch of pylons standing around and a backup goalie for a "highlight" reel goal to lift his spirits up again.

What I like is that there are some people saying that their new HC, who was effectively their Keefe, is amazing and ran a prospect factory in Bakersfield...

In the 4 years he has been HC, the only noteworthy prospect other than 1st round picks Kailer Yamamoto and Evan Bouchard that team has produced were Ethan Bear and Ryan McLeod. Ethan Bear is effectively a RH Dermott and McLeod should probably not be in the NHL right now.

Skinner, Lavoie, Holloway, and Broberg are the only ones who look like they could turn into somewhat high end players similar to Bouchard/Yamamoto at this point, and then maybe one of their larger defensive defensemen like Niemalainen could turn into a decent bottom pairing defenseman at some point.

Then in the pipeline they have Petrov, Tullio, and Savoie. Solid prospects, but hardly game-breaking guys. They would be in that Voit/Miettinen territory as more offensively oriented but smaller guys.

If Vegas needs to clear millions and millions in cap just to activate Jack Eichel, what are the chances the rest of the league aren’t just waiting to charge an arm and a leg to ruin them? They really should have shed more salary to Buffalo when conceiving of these video game trades.
Has a team ever been punished for being over the cap by the end of the season? Not to my knowledge. I don't even think the repercussions have ever been detailed, again not to my knowledge.

If it was the Leafs you know we'd lose all draft picks the following year, at LEAST. with it being Vegas they'll probably get just a stern warning and finger wave from Bettman... "You guys better not do it again!" :nono:

If Arizona has any chance at wanting to convince Matthews to come home they need to sort out that arena thing relatively quickly because I can’t see him going to that organization to play in that small of an arena

and that’s even assuming they can rebuild petiole to give Matthews some excitement over the idea

So long overdue. He's never been good.

But nothing fixes Edmonton until Holland and Nicholson are gone too.

That roster is horrible no matter who the coach is, and that's two spectacular GM failures picked by Nicholson now.
Edmonton needs to stop hiring GM's that were good 20 years ago...

I love it when the Bruins get wrecked. At home? Even better.

Let's go for 10 goals in this one Carolina.

Stadium was empty when leafs/matthews were there
Not very convincing

I can't figure out NJ.

Tire fire most nights but this is the 4th time they have put up 7 against a legit good team.

Taking down the big boys and then getting thrashed.

A Bruins beat down doesn't make up for a Leaf loss - but I'll take what I can get.

Bruins lose
Montreal loss
Ottawa loss

must look on the bright side of life

Not a single person here including me, who wanted Kane said that he was a saviour of any kind. Also, last I checked he has in 5 games he has 4 points, (2g 2a) and 3 fights

He has done exactly what he was brought in to do. That has nothing to do with current situation with coaching
Tippet should have been fired back in December, long before Kane and Oilers were even a thought
I was talking more about the oilers fan not about you or anyone over here tbh.

Stats are great...but what has that changed anything for them? Bringing in a guy like that has done what for them exactly? End of the day it's still the Losses I am looking at while coming off desperate to sign a talented player with a very questionable past. It was to help their dire situation, coaching or not.
