At the halway point are we still claiming the Pacific is the weakest division? They have kind of owned the East with only Tor, TB and Car really having a great record.

Now it seems like the parity only exists in the Western Conference. Almost every team in tge Pacific is .500 point%.

The East is filled with the top teams minus Col and quite possibly Min and the rest are garbage.

I can't remmeber the playoffs been locked up so early.

they need to do a full re haul of the all star weekend its just uncomfortable at this point

give them something to play for, make it a money or a extra draft pick something to get the competitive fire going. right now its like watching a choreographed exhibition

The models predict they could INCREASE revenue playing at a 5,000 seat college rink? They should have been relocated years ago. This is ridiculous.
I just want the reporters to grow a pair. Like just one reporter being willing to ask an actual follow up question to this guys stupid answer.

How is the next question not "Doesnt it say something about the state of hockey in Arizona where they can play in a 5000 seat arena and somehow make more money?"
or
"Do you think having your teams play in a 5000 seat areana helps cement the idea that hockey is more of a fringe sport instead of a mainstream sport in Arizona?"
or
"Isnt it at least a bit embarrassing that hockey in Arizona is at the point where they will be playing in front of less fans than an average OHL game?"
or
"At what point in this process did the NHL accept that a 5000 seat arena in an acceptable blight on the leagues reputation, and at what point did you become ok with being less popular than highschool football?"

This is also assuming they done need to do the massive renovations Friedman said they need which will put the numbers closer to 3200 fans.

I'm sure the players are quite happy with the current format.

I don’t think there’s any realistic incentive that will get the players to play any harder.

The break is more for the kids anyway and I think that’s been par for the course for a long time, we’ve just gotten older

Or just permanently cancel it for real hockey games instead.

Where revenues are capped, and so greatly reduced, it speaks to having no expectations of revenue growth out of this franchise for years to come. The model must be predicting a substantial reduction in expenses, in order to achieve this. What a sad set of circumstances. Should have been relocated years ago, and it really makes you wonder the reasoning to keep the team there.

Would imagine TV rights is the central concern for the league backing the team staying put.
