F*ck cancer - RIP Fugu and Buffaloed
People need to talk about Pavelski and how he’s been a PPG player despite being 35+
So Boston has joined the never lose gang.
I mean unless you win 4 in a row on the regular you have no shot at the division
Bruins goalies so far this year, Ullmark and Swayman, are both posting better numbers than Rask did last year.Top Headlines
Boston is getting their starting #1 goalie back tonight for the 1st time this season.
There isn't a lot of daylight between Boston and Toronto in the standings as Boston adds a key core piece to the playoff race in the Atlantic .
Check out this thread on Ken Holland's work since 2012. Warning: it's really ugly.
Montreal was never a team I had on my radar,” Marchand told reporters after the game over Zoom. “I was always a Toronto fan growing up, as painful as that is to say now, that was my team. Once I thought that the NHL could be a reality, Montreal really didn’t show any interest. So, it wasn’t a team I thought would pick me, and luckily I ended up here and it’s been a lot of fun. … When you get drafted to a team, you’re all in on that team. Being in Boston is the best thing that ever happened to me, so I’m very happy with the way it’s worked out.

Goaltending has been a strength for the Bruins, as it always is.
reading this thread oh man was pure fun.
He was good last year, more or less in line with the his previous 5 seasonsCould this help explain Tuukka Rask's performance and stats last year?
Tuukka Rask injury: Timeline for Bruins goalie after surgery
Jul 28, 2021 — The Boston Bruins goaltender had surgery to repair a torn labrum in his hip "a few days ago,"
Rask is expected to return sometime in January or February. Rask battled the injury during much of the 2021 season, appearing in just 24 of the Bruins' 56 regular-season games and playing through the hip ailment in the postseason.
Brad Marchand was a Leaf fan growing up.

BLASPHEMY!Nashville loses to the Sabres, jackets shut out the canes, Sens beat the Flames. Good teams lose to bad teams.
Yep it happens. I’m sure their fans are disappointed.Nashville loses to the Sabres, jackets shut out the canes, Sens beat the Flames. Good teams lose to bad teams.

Wow, I knew it was bad, but when it's laid out like that.... Katz had better wake up and flush all the glory day oilers and old time hockey men out of his realm or the Oilers are going to waste McDavid.
With what they have there it shouldn't be difficult to make it into a consistently good team.
Getting a good goaltender might be a start, heck even Reimer would have been an improvement for them.
If Boston wins their 2 games in hand they're only 3 points behind
Time to pick it up here and go on another streak. I can't believe I have to say that in the middle of a 21-5-2 stretch
This actually added silver line to this loss. Now Montreal is dead last and we can say some predictions about their time were bit off. Without this loss that last nights fiasco in Chicago wouldn't have dropped Habs to that 32th place in the league.
@Mess when that Habsinian powerhouse of Quebec will push us off from wild card position?
Tampa Bay played all of last year without the former Hart and Art Ross trophy winning Kucherov and finished with 2 less points, but still won more regular season games then Leafs who won the North. That fact should scare Leaf Nation as that would be the equivalent of Leafs playing all year without Matthews and still having the same points in the final standings.
If you combined the last 2 partial season together of Toronto vs. Florida the results would be a near photo finish with the difference 1 less game played by Panthers.
Toronto Maple Leafs .... 126 games 71 wins 39 losses 16 OTL = 158 points with GF: 425 & GA: 375
Florida Panthers............. 125 games 72 wins 40 losses 13 OTL = 157 points with GF: 420 & GA: 381
The Leafs have never finished above the Bruins in the standings in the Atlantic and every year the age demise is predicted by the Bruins, but they have one of the best lines in hockey with the Perfection line and don't have a single player on their entire roster making $7 mil AAV or more. Boston's top 4 forwards all make and consume less cap than Nylander.
Rask told the Boston media this just last weekend that he hopes he will be back from surgery in January, and going to resign for the 2nd 1/2 the season with Boston for cheap. Ullmark/Rask > Campbell/Mrazek IMO.
The fact that over the last 5 years combined the Bruins have the NHL's 3rd best regular season record, while Tampa Bay is #1 for regular season results. Sadly 2 of the top 3 most consistent teams play in the Atlantic.
To me this still looks like if you look at the last 2 years combined points .
1). Tampa Bay (79 wins 167 points) while missing Kuch all year.
2) Boston ( 77 wins & 173 points)
3a) Toronto ( 71 wins & 158 points)
3b) Florida ( 72 wins & 157 points) (Panthers played -1 less games)
With the loser of the battle for 3rd in the Atlantic in a wild card battle with the Metro for a playoff spot.
PS. Projections based on current info, as key injuries can always change things.
