Having TB drop 3 in a row so that we can move up to 3rd overall while sitting around twiddling our thumbs is a very tasty and totally unexpected gift to wrap up 2021 if you ask me. We also looked just a bit off the last few games before the break, team D was in a bit of a lull so not a bad time for a break in that sense either IMHO.

Yeah I saw the points % swap but I feel we'd have easily made up the raw points as well by now with that elite mid-season form prior to the pause and the PPDs. Now we gotta throw rust into the mix that might make us lose a game we'd have otherwise won.

If the point was to give him an opportunity though, where does he fit? He was better off going to Pittsburgh.
If Leafs made a call I think he'd come and grind his way up without hesitation. He'd tell the Hawks its perfect deal. His soul mate is here

The only actual tough media markets in Canada are Toronto, Montreal, and Vancouver. The Alberta teams, Winnipeg, and Ottawa are treated with kid gloves by local and national media. Could you imagine how things would be here or in Montreal if a team that was supposed to contend was on a 5 game losing streak and the head coach was behind the bench for 11 straight losses? It’d be apoplectic.

even montreal and vancouver are rife with homers.

in canada, only in Toronto do you get hockey media that is actually takes pleasure in the hometown team struggling....and that's because all the best hockey writers from all over the country end up here, and they have no love for the leafs.

meanwhile, in the rest of canada they're left with the guys who couldn't make it to Toronto - the dumbest and most homerific.

Kucherov back with Tampa, and they are already top in the division in points, 3rd in %.
Boston seems to be getting Rask back.

Easily, the toughest division in Hockey. Getting out of a first round, or the division is a major accomplishment here.

Yup. It’s gonna be tough to get outta the first round. We blew two big opportunities last couple of playoffs. This year it’s gonna be very tough to even make it outta the first round. Hopefully this team is ready to take several steps forward and surprise us.

Honestly goaltending is not actually one of their biggest problems.

1. No players that know how to defend, at any position
2. No scoring depth
3. Useless coach
4. Below average (not awful) goaltending
5. McDrai don't play any defense at all either

Pens on track to win their 10th in a row
Evan Rodriguez leading the way.... Dubas should have paid the 1 million asking price after he acquired him in the Kapanen trade. Same goes to Verhaeghe, think it was the same off-season, we passed on him because he wanted 1 million over 750000. Funny how Dubas plays such good salary cap hard ball in the small negotiations but was dreadful in the big ones. None the less... he had Verhaeghe, Rodriguez, Kase and Bunting as low price additions the past two seasons. Pretty darn good eye for talent...too bad Marner and Co thought his talents were comparable to Tavares and Matthews  haha.

Guess Dubas should just stick to his guns... think signing Thornton and Ritchie was pressure from above and not his first choices.

ERod didn't want to sign here, and Dubas never had Verhaeghe in his control. There were 29 other GMs who failed getting him to sign as a UFA

Atlantic teams showing Calgary just how weak the pacific is.

The west is pure poop.

They may have planned the auto loss on that one, started Vladar over Markstrom vs the defending champs.
