I think if you miss the PO 10 out the previous 11 seasons - it's not really tanking. We earned that muthaf***ing pick
Couldnt happen to a nicer fan baseIslanders still winless in their new arena. On an 0-8-1 stretch and have scored just 6 goals total in their past 8 games.
Happens once in awhile
I have a bad read of them and will continue to have a bad read until we actually play them. Our first game against them is in....March? Lmao wut
It was all part of the plan. When the Leafs were tanking for Matthews, at least they put up a respectable effort. I don't think there were too many blowout losses that year from what I can remember.
It’s good for the Leafs to have the Islanders out of the wild card race, in case they win the Atlantic.
I think it's easier for Teams who get by on hard work with little skill to burn out and crash at some point. They need to win all of their games in hand just to get within reach of a wild card team.
They need to have a .640 winning percentage the rest of the season to get to 95 points. Doable but very tough. And it’s hard to just turn a corner like that. Should they struggle into Christmas they’ll be done this year.
Shows how you can easily put yourself out of the race with a bad start to the season. Even treading water keeps you hanging around to make a run.

What's happening to the Isles was inevitable.
As a Leaf fan I could really not care less about Lou, the Islanders or their Cap.It boggles my mind people don't see how short term Lou is in terms of a manager. That he could be maxed to the cap without a single star signed (having to rely on an early retirement) is bonkers. The best coach in the world is the only reason that team even sniffs the playoffs.

Yes, I responded to a post about their decline, it's how this all works. You were literally just discussing them and their "inevitability".
Remember when the Isles fans were being smart @$$es and singing to Tavares "We don't need you" and saying that the team became better because he left when in reality it became better because of Trotz. Well now Tavares should be singing "That's what you think"It boggles my mind people don't see how short term Lou is in terms of a manager. So you do care then...Yes, I responded to a post about their decline
Tavares is great but he probably wouldn't make that much of a difference there.Remember when the Isles fans were being smart @$$es and singing to Tavares "We don't need you" and saying that the team became better because he left when in reality it became better because of Trotz. You don't think an elite #1 center would help the 31st place offensive team?Tavares is great but he probably wouldn't make that much of a difference there.
