Zad is so leaving after this season, which will be a shame because I have really come to enjoy him on the team. Guy will make the dumbest mistakes, but overall I think he's a solid top 4/elite bottom paring guy.

In all honesty, I think of the Roman empire pretty regularly too. So many fun things (Hannibal, the absolute mad lad, marching Elephants through Spain, over the Swiss Alps and into Italy while all of Rome's top generals were preparing for an invasion from the south. Or how their architecture influenced western architecture for centuries. We still use examples of their legal code today. Or how China went to war with pre-Roman Greece, and them winning that, was what made China an Asian superpower, and also lead them to establishing embassies in Rome where they regularly made fun of the silk worn by Roman nobility for being the "quality that our peasants would wear").

But yeah, Zad better stay

I form the Roman Empire every time I play EU4. It’s the only way. I also randomly blurt out mare nostrum so I can pretend to sound smart sometimes.

The War of the Heavenly Horses. The Han had huge problems with the nomadic Steppes tribes that in about 1100 years would become known as the Mongolians, because their horses were so much better than the Chinese horses. So they went to war with Greco-Bactria (pre-Roman Greek colonies in what would be today as Afghanistan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan and a little bit of a few other countries) after the Greeks refused to sell them their horses (which were the only horses that were comparable to the Mongolian ones that the Han knew of, still worse, but at least close enough that they could fight them effectively). But that war effectively lead to the establishment of Sino-Roman and Sino-Greek embassies for the next several hundred years.

Just heard the Sharangovich interview and it was awesome getting a look (albeit tiny) into who he is and all that. Definitely rooting even harder for Yegor after listening. He spoke of his family and young child very fondly, I like that he's got more fellow dads on his new team compared to Jersey.

I got such a good feeling about this guy. I think he makes the most of his opportunities here. :-)

I still find it kinda odd using Scorp as a legit source

But I'm proud of him, he's grown up and worked his ass off to get there.

It's going to be a jersey covered in Harvey the Hound's fur?
I know this is just a joke, but it will be basically the old (hockey) Calgary Stampeders jersey with a Flaming C in the roundel rather than a bucking bronco.
