The ups and downs for Stone from his final year in Arizona, to the remainder of his career in Calgary will give him a tone of life experience, on and off teh ice to help these kids. He went from blowing out his ACL, to being the father of twins, to being traded, to having a life threatening blood clot, to being bought out, to being re-signed after being bought out, to signing a series of one-year deals and always finding a way to make a positive impact on the team. Usually guys who reach the NHL as quickly as Stone don't have those kinds of ups and downs, that series of events will really aid him in understanding what the players are going through in their own lives.

Add in playing on the Hitmen, Wranglers and Flames, he'd be the perfect guy to discuss all of the different stages of development to players on the Calgary teams.

Long story short, Darryl sucked and modern coaches need to be able to walk and chew gum at the same time (aka develop players at the NHL level too while competing)

I'm more encouraged by the fact he kind of discovered both Hathaway and Lomberg. And almost Jon Cooper.

Great interview though - didn't expect to sit through the whole thing.

Only 35 minutes in, but it was interesting when he talked about Mitch Love, and how dealing with the things like NHL travel and NHL personalities were an area he was seeking answers for, I'd never have thought about asking about the travel myself.

I like to think Rob Kerr made Conroy sit their and listen to that whole song before they started.

Also, I've always thought Rob Kerr always sort of looked up to Letterman, and he's still fostering that with the logo of his shows and he even sort of looks like him nowadays.

As much as that cleavage line on the 88 loaf is super enticing and amazing (I assume it is not an ass crack)... Can we also take a moment to appreciate that awesome baseball cap that Mangiapane is wearing?

Mangiapane is a gem. He needs to design something for our goalies!

Sweater Numbers!

Ahead of training camp, the Flames have announced jersey number updates for three players.
Defenceman Jordan Oesterle, who was signed to a one-year contract on Jul. 2, will wear number 82 while forward Yegor Sharangovich, who was acquired from the New Jersey Devils on Jun. 27, will wear #17.
Forward Jakob Pelletier will be making a number change, wearing #22.
