He did a lot to shield the team from criticism after the BoA series loss but I think internally he was very unhappy about how his players performed in that series.Francis did that interview with our fearless leader Darryl Sutter.
The way that guys speaks, tells me he did not like a number of players on this team, perhaps even some that departed.
Also him slamming this teams' endurance and training level when he joined is such a damn red flag for where we were two years ago. How shitty.
Honestly I don’t believe that. The Flames were extremely public about their want to re-sign both Johnny and Chucky. The Flames dealt Tkachuk only because he stated he would re-sign and both sides thanked each other for being so amicable during the process. I have no reason to think there were bad feelings. I think Sutter did request to bring in certain guys like Lewis and Stone to add a presence in the room though. There was an obvious leadership problem.Tkachuk and Sutter had some pretty obvious beef
Sutter also recognizes that it's hard to win when your best player is a small winger
Among those skating? Michael Stone.
He plays like 5 games a year. If he keeps himself in shape, he could pull a Chelios and play until his late 40'sMichael Stone sees "forever a Flame" as a challenge.
