I normally feel like I'm much more grounded & calm compared to most posters here.

But this is a meltdown-worthy display so far. Especially given talk about "playing down to opponents" earlier today. How am I, as a fan, supposed to be convinced that this group is growing & evolving, if they continuously display a complete lack of learning their lesson?

Better be one hell of a third period effort. This is unacceptable

Making a conscious effort to be positive about the season myself, but they are making it VERY hard right now.

What is it with the Leafs and early starts? Games, seasons....all of it.

Don't get me wrong. I'm certain we're making the playoffs and such. They'll finish somewhere in the top 3 of their division and all that. But...this game reflects everything wrong with the soul of this team. This isn't the first time that they've under-performed against a team like Arizona. That can happen once in a while.

But they knew going into this game that they've done this in the past and need to bring a best effort. But they can't find any kind of killer instinct. Arizona is tanking! They've getting blown out nightly. There is no excuse for this garbage.

They'll win games and it's fine. But this is why they won't win the division and are going to stare down a team like Tampa again in round 1.

The easy answer (but don't know if it's correct) is that we work harder against the good teams then our talent plays. The old cliche, perhaps, that we play up and down to our opponents... It's all I got...lol
