Assuming Tobias Reider and the Arizona franchise do not work things out..

Tobias Reider returns to the team that drafted him in exchange for Nail Yakupov.
Oilers can then work out a contract for Reider and the Coyotes get to add some fire power to their power play and possibly reignite the flame of the once projected 30 goal scorer.

This is just a base for deal. Feel free to suggest small additions.

He already didn't want to sign with the Oilers after they drafted him, forcing them to make a bad trade to get an asset back for him. Why would the Oilers want any part of this guy again?. Especially considering he has now held out on a second team. He can go to the KHL for all I care. The only way I'd touch him as a GM is if he was a UFA. I certainly wouldn't give up an asset for his rights.

His contract ask seems pretty reasonable he's apparently looking for $2.5M per year over 2 years and apparently Arizona is standing firm at $2.2M per what I read on twitter.

I agree I think he's worth that, but it's also two consecutive teams he's had an impasse with. He seems like a primadonna. I wonder why they can't find common ground on only 300K so I wonder if there's something about his dressing room presence or attitude that has management concerned.

I've been iffy on moving Yakupov in conference just due to the potential of him breaking out in a new environment. That being said, this deal makes a lot of sense for Edmonton. Rieder is a guy who can play deeper in the lineup and wouldn't add any more to the cap with what he's asking. Plus he and Drai can be buds.

That being said. I can't see it happening.

I would laugh really hard if the Oilers turned a 1OA into their own 4th round pick. I like him when I watch him, but all of Yakupov's stats -- regular, advanced, everything -- are really disappointing. I'd rather take my chances with Rieder.
