Wouldn't be surprised if they grab one of the Wild-card spots. Wouldn't be surprised if they missed altogether as well.

Next two seasons? Highly unlikely. But after the DBC acquisition I can see them fighting for a spot in 3-4 years if their prospects develop accordingly. I can see Montreal on their heels at that point as well.

You're apparently just smarter than everyone else, Coffee.

Or being lucky/right about one thing has given him Musk-like confidence in way too many things.

I do think Chiarot is a player. Dude is for real. You want someone to play defense, he’s there. Definitely more skilled than most hockey players in the world. He might not even be -31 next year (I know, overused stat, but that’s still bad).

The only “new” playoff team I think we might get in the East is Buffalo. I think they’re the closest. Maybe Pittsburgh or someone like that gets in, but I wouldn’t consider them new. I don’t think Detroit or Ottawa are making it yet.

No team that changes 8 players in the off-season is for real. It’s going to take time to gel if they even have the right mix. Just think about how much of that team was turned over. It’s crazy. It’s also not a video game.

I voted no but not because the number of players. Bit different adding that number of players now vs at the trade deadline

Getting a one dimensional winger on his 3rd contract is not making this team a contender in anyway shape or form. Edmonton added mcdavid and drasaitl and hit the conference finals once.

Debrincat is not a one dimensional player, he's a good passer and playmaker in addition to being a great goal scorer. Also never stated the addition of DBC alone makes them a playoff contender either, read my post again. I clearly said I dont expect them to be a playoff team in the next couple years, but if the rest of their young prospects continue their development properly then I could see them in the playoff hunt in 3-4 years.

You're also greatly underestimating the value that DBC brings to their team overall. Their biggest deficiency in the pipeline and current roster has been scoring, acquiring a young 25yo proven goal scorer just entering his prime that fits their age group addresses that issue and complements their overall talent pool nicely. It definitely helps their rebuild quite a bit without costing them any core pieces either, plus he's locked in on a team friendly deal to boot. Thats a great addition for them and will definitely help them become more competitive in the near future.

I mean, Vegas' entire team was 'turned over' their first season and they made the cup finals. I do agree that it can take time for teams to gel, but it doesn't mean they aren't "for real". You clearly can be 'for real' with a lot of turnover.

I think they’re a playoff team this season. They were in the wild card hunt all season last year until the deadline and that’s while having missed Vrana and Bertuzzi for 80% of the schedule.

They figure to be better defensively this season, hopefully Raymond rebounds from his sophomore slump, Larkin continues at his PPG pace, and DeBrincat hits at least 35G.

All that combined with a better performance from Husso in net, hopefully it comes together. Just get in, and like we saw this year from Florida, anything can happen.

in hockey, one player just doesn’t move the needle a lot. If it did, Edmonton would have a dynasty right now. In hockey, one hockey player just doesn’t make a huge impact like the NBA. I’m not saying DBC isn’t a good player. I’m just saying he barely moves the needle. That’s all. Hockey is a team game that requires 20 guys. Again the nba you have 2-3 superstars that wins championships.

No, they got a bit to go, and their division is very tough. They might be battling with a bunch of teams for a wildcard spot is my assumption for this upcoming season.

They said the same thing when I said Panthers over Bruins and to finals. I had like 20 laugh emote reacts before the series started.
The Panthers just won the presidents trophy the year before. That wasn’t nearly as far fetched as the Red Wings being in the ECF this coming year.

In fact, if you would have said last July that the Panthers would come out of the East next year, it would have been pretty believable and not at all outlandish.

Give them a shot, maybe TML and leafs locks for playoffs.
g cats barely made it last year, bruins have no centres, buffalo and ottawa good on paper but yet to breathru. Would put drw in this grp of teams with 50% to make it roughly.

fake team

that's not how wheels work and their mascot is incapable of both movement as well as concepts such as love
