Give it a few more preseason games and Ottawa might send you a 3rd just for the satisfaction of banishing to the ECHL

He handed the win to Ottawa last night.

Upon further review: Perhaps Xhekaj’s act of irrationalism wasn’t that smart after all? The Senators scored three goals on the five-minute power play, recovering from a 2-0 deficit for a 4-3 victory.

Needs a little coaching in how to more positively direct that massive spirit of his.

Might give a 3rd to keep him in Montreal's line up. 6 GA in 58 minutes of 5v5 TOI.

He needs a little work but the components are there. He's only 23.

If he can become a guy that can play a regular third-pairing shift on a playoff contending team, that's a great way to keep an enforcer on the ice while maintaining a balanced 4th line.

Probably a 4th round pick. He gets a ton of attention because he plays in Montreal and has suck a funky name, but look at what Ryan Reaves used to return: a 4th in 2018, a 3rd in 2021, a 5th in 2022.

Jake Middleton went for a 5th recently and he can fight and is a better player.

Josh Brown is about the same and he's gone for 4th-7th round picks.

Both of those player were on expiring contract and older. Xhekaj would fetch much more than that and the habs will simply not trade him.

These threads always have offers for him based on being nothing but an enforcer, and Habs fans see him as an eventual strong, regular 3d pairing guy who also brings a strong physical element. Of course valuations end up all over the place.

The OP -is- a Habs fan.

And the other Habs fans are telling him "We're going to keep him, thanks."

It's like a weird echo chamber.
