Congrats to the kid!
Does he have long term top 4 potential? Or is he just a unique combination of tough and not completely horrible? Long term bottom pairing guy?
Yeah, it's definitely something the kid has to work on,Benn baited Xhekaj the following shift for a goal against. Kid thought he was getting the Gordie, instead he got a goal against lol
Awesome. That's a great get for the Habs, then. Having a guy who's genuinely feared on your blueline who can also actually play is a good guy to have on a contender going forward. I'm liking how the Habs are shaping up. I think Slafkovsky was a very good pick, and if you can grab a Michkov or Fantilli in the draft this year; wow.During camp I was thinking more of a 4/5 kinda guy but the past few games has me rethinking that. He has the skating and shot to be a legit top 4 guy.
yeah but goal wasn't on him; all the forwards were puck watchingBenn baited Xhekaj the following shift for a goal against. Kid thought he was getting the Gordie, instead he got a goal against lol
agreed, but habs will still need two other things:Awesome. That's a great get for the Habs, then. Xhekaj had his man covered lolBenn baited Xhekaj the following shift for a goal against. Kid thought he was getting the Gordie, instead he got a goal against lol

Yes, that's on the forwards. Drouin missed his defensive cue like he always does.Did he? Wideman was on Benn, then Xhekaj double teams Benn in the corner because he wants to hit him ignoring all other players on the ice and losing his stick.

Maybe if the D didn't double team up on guys in the corner because they want to hit him forward coverage on their men would be more sound and not need to rotate.
Your replay starts too late, why does Xhekaj go on Benn? Your center needs to peel off Johnston the third man in, because Xhekaj had no interest in him. Now the center is late in the corner on his man, opening up the middle of the ice to Lindell.
But yea, Drouin is covering the wall not the middle of the blueline because he didn;t look behind him. He doesn't know how to play defense either.
The winger is supposed to cover the dman there and he didn't. There's really nothing else to say. Had it been Benn who scored they you'd be right, but you are dead wrong and made a thread about a rookie's 1st goal about something that isn't relevant to him and wasn't his responsibility.
Maybe post something that is relevant to the thread and actually makes sense as opposed to bashing a rookie? Start your own thread about this false narrative that a dman is supposed to cover the opposing teams dman.Sorry for posting something you didn't like. Next time I'll PM to get your approval.
