Miller addressed the Tkachuks about leaking /talking about the group chat after the USA/Canada Round robin game.

For those that don't know.... The Tkachuk brothers revealed that Team USA had a few players on group chat discussing/staging fights vs Canada to start the game in the round robin.

Miller wasnt fond of this getting out to the public for whatever reason and told the Tkachuks to pretty much stfu next time and keep it in the room.

Alpha Dog Miller barking loud already!

Context for clarity:

Friedman: "We have to ask, how was the group chat leading up to the final?"

Miller: "I hate that they talked about the group chat."

(Collective laughing)

Miller: Because, it wasn't that. It's about, you know, it's, the group chat seems like it was this big arch-, or big plan.

(Proceeds to talk about Canada and how they had to set the tone).

Brandon Hagel also leaked the groupchat after yesterdays win

So let me get this straight. Matt Tkachuk stages a fight so he can look good. Picks a smaller non fighter, so he can win. Gets injured during the fight. Brags about the group chat to media upsetting his teammates. Then he insists on playing the final, only to be too hurt to actually play and leaves his team short handed. And they lose in OT.

Amazing

I know some pro athletes have intentionally told themselves that they have beef with someone to perform better, even if beef doesn't really exist. Shaq did it with Robinson, Jordan famously wanted to have beef with everyone.

Is it possible JT Miller is trying to do that, and just doesn't really get it?

JT Miller comes across as the coworker you have to tiptoe around what you say in case you accidentally offend them.

Not to say some things that are said in locker rooms (or workplaces) aren’t offensive, but this isn’t one of them. The guy is impeccable at making himself the center of drama.

I dont think he likes the drama, I think he just likes or wants to be the Alpha male and big dog in any room, so if things get leaked without his consent or knwoledge, he will react by trying to show everyone who the boss is.

I think this tactic only works if you're actually good in the first place, though.

Possibly but based on his own standards he sets for the rest of the league the person he should have the biggest issue with is himself.

Shakespeare himself couldn’t have written it better.

Still unsure if the 3 Canada fighters were part of the supposed group chat and if it was truly staged/planned.

If it was just the US players in a group chat talking about starting fights then it shouldn't be a big deal.

Those are all opponents.

Miller likes to beef and create tension with his teammates.

Also all those athletes you listed are winners. Tom Brady, Kobe, MJ etc...alll famous for being fiery.

Miller might want to win something first before he thinks he can get away acting like this.

Reminds me of one of my old bosses.

I think it's dumb to tell the media about their group chat and that they wanted to fight early, but also there's a way you address it with your teammates. You talk to them like grown adults with some respect, not like they're beneath you. They talked about locker room stuff to the media, cool address it appropriately not by lashing out.

I think he has the right idea just a horrible way of approaching things and executing though. Gotta know how to be a teammate.
