NHL Live discusses the three 2014 Selke Nominees including LA Kings Anze Kopitar.

I posted this on the main board. Wanted to post this on the Kings board as well.

NHL Tonight highlighted Anze Kopitar as forward of the week last night.

Mark Roe: "Okay, time for our best forward of the week, and this could be the best forward of the last few weeks 'cause Anze Kopitar's had an unbelievable postseason. The longest playoff point streak since #99 (Gretzky) for the L.A. Kings. Pretty good stuff. Anze Kopitar's been a big reason why the Kings have had success."

Kevin Weekes: "You just stunned me with that one. That's an amazing stat right there. Roe, you're doing your homework. Anze Kopitar. I don't know who watched the Kentucky Derby last week but I was looking for Kopitar in there. 'Cause he's a thoroughbred. I didn't see him at the starting gates, but I've got to tell you, this guy's a difference maker. He is the preeminent center in the National Hockey League, not only the Western Conference. You look at him and Getzlaf. I just think that these are guys are so big, so talented, motivated, hungry. And he does everything it takes to win. Watch the defensive play. Always comes back deep in the zone. Very reliable in all three zones. The type of player that all you gotta do as a coach is just close your eyes, 11, you get out there, doesn't matter who's out there, 11, 11."

Pointed out his play in the Olympics. "I think this guy is an absolute stud of a player and an even better human being."

Mark Roe: "You also mentioned you could put him out in any situation. I think it's a testament to the 200-foot game that he can play."

Kevin Weekes: "No doubt. He is arguably the best centerman in the league. He is that good and that much of a difference maker and a game changer."
