As great as 2011 was, what a horsecrap 12 months this year was for Boston.

They hit January 1st last year as the best team in hockey, and on January 7th lost to Vancouver in a game that seemed to set them up for the rest of the hockey season. Thomas was shaky that afternoon, they started struggling, we had the White House thing- other stuff and ended up getting beat in the first round.

After that the lockout wiped out the rest of the year.

There was nothing all year really to be excited about- maybe some games at the end but overall considering the last game was last April and ended with a dud, one of greatest year in Bruins history 2011 followed by maybe the worst taking everything into consideration.

I've had it. I'm out until they do something. Maybe a day, maybe a week, but certainly not 2 weeks.

What a piss poor way to ring in the new year:p:

Happy New Years all!!!! I finally have a resolution I can keep- no following this stuff for as long as it takes to end one way or another.

Only silver linings for 2012 are that we re-upped most of our core players, and Hamilton & Spooner continue to impress in Juniors and the A respectively. Can't think of anything else though!!

2012 wasn't the best Boston sports year all around. Pats were in Super Bowl, but lost; Bruins one and out. Celts had a good run too; but didn't have the legs against Miami. And the Sox had their worst season in decades.

Considering there isn't hockey still; 2013 is looking even bleaker. Unless the Pats can win 3 more games!!

Chris Kelly was re-signed ;), Patrice Bergeron won the Selke and he, along with Tyler Seguin and Brad Marchand, showed that they are one hell of a line.

Up until the injury bug hit in January, the Bruins team were playing dominant, Stanley Cup winning hockey.

Seguin's season marked the arrival of a young potential game changer.

With the spectre of a short compacted 48 game season upon us and hoping that Horton et al are back to full health, we could be ready to witness some of the best hockey ever played by a Bruins team.

Season ticket holders have saved thousands and scalpers haven't earned a penny.

If Seguin and Bergeron pick up where they left off in Europe, and Horton returns to his old self, we're in for a lot of very exciting hockey.

Wrong on the first no ST is getting saved money if they get a 56 game schedule slammed down their throats and are looking at weeks with 4 home games. Bruins haven't stopped taking payments either. The shortened regular season is going to suck and suck up all my money (if it got done a month ago different story.) The hockey will b miserable.

As for the second part not many street sellers out for Celtics games maybe some got jobs its not like they're waiting for baseball is it? Anyways its good for fans who hate scalpers like you and JMiller since you will be able to get 10 dollar tickets on stubhub now ;).

No concussions to any Bruins player is the ONLY good part of the lockout. Everything else blows.

The development of Seguin. Like watching a promising foal turn into Secretariat.

Um no not really try again.

He was poor most of the Washington series even though he had a couple nice games towards the end of it.

And over in Switzerland might as well be back playing for the Plymouth Whalers.

No clue how you think his 2012 is secretariat compared to 2011 being a foal since in 2011 he carried us early in the Tampa series as a rook when our leader at forward went down and got off to a good enough start to the subsequent season enough to lead the team in scoring. He took the next step in 2012...in ****in Europe which like I said might as well be Plymouth MI for all we care.

2012 was the year of too much Pouliot, Tims mouth coming before his play, and with the team a contender we traded for Rolston, Mottau, and Zanon when defending our crown.

And a lockout. It ****ing sucked. Bergy won a selke but also hit a post in OT of a game 7 knowin that guy do you really think he was happy with his season?

- When I walked out after the 9-0 win of Calgary on January 5, I realized the Bruins GF/GA was 138-69 for the season. And I thought it was possible they may never lose again. Ultimate high point.

- Bergeron getting his Selke ... finally

- Finding out which local hockey writers have political agendas. It's a pretty "Hagg-ard" group.

- Lucic fighting Komisarek again in March to finally complete the trilogy.

Seguin in 2010-11: 74 games, 11 goals, 11 assists, minus-4

Seguin in 2011-12: 81 games, 29 goals, 38 assists, plus-34

The difference between his rookie and sophomore years was astounding, and it was sheer pleasure to watch his improvement. If you don't believe that, I don't know what to tell you.

Corvo not being re-signed was pretty good:)

Not an easy year for Bruin fans, also not one that I didn`t quietly think "could" happen after the long run to the Cup then all the hoopla that surrounds it. Most teams returning from a Cup appearance have an incredibly tough time duplicating/finding that same level of performance as we`ve all seen. Really hard to describe 2012 Bruin hockey, inconsistent could be one word?? Maybe not the best but it`s all I have after just waking up having served Food and Beverages til 2am last night overlooking the Halifax Harbour.

As much as I love NHL hockey, just can`t summon up the excitement for a potential 48 game schedule, it`ll open the door to average at best teams snagging a playoff spot

I for one was always excited about the 12-13 season, if we ever have it.

We get to see Dougie play at the NHL level.
Find out if Tuukka will be able to maintain his starting Job,
Get to see a new and upcoming player on that third line slot.

Also, more importantly i want to see what kind of force Seguin will be.

I just remember watching last season whenever he had the puck everyone would be at the edge of their seats waiting for a goal. I miss that.

If your ST bill isn't prorated you're a sucker. Already got Loge 14 Row 1 for the Celts March 16th and Feb 3rd off Craigslist. Be sure they didn't make anything.

I have paid in full for this season...no $$ saved...yet.

One fun B's moment for me was last Jan..Shawn Thornton scoring a beauty (penalty shot).

Understandable that no money could be refunded game by game. They're holding about 38 million in ST money, should probably earn about 2 million in interest.
