OT: Anything Goes 41

  • We sincerely apologize for the extended downtime. Our hosting provider, XenForo Cloud, encountered a major issue with their backup system, which unfortunately resulted in the loss of some critical data from the past year.

    What This Means for You:

    • If you created an account after March 2024, it no longer exists. You will need to sign up again to access the forum.
    • If you registered before March 2024 but changed your email, username, or password in the past year, those changes were lost. You’ll need to update your account details manually once you're logged in.
    • Threads and posts created within the last year have been restored.
    • Our 2025 light and dark themes were lost, so we are rebuilding them. Light theme is currently available, but work in progress

Our team is working with Xenforo Cloud to recover data using backups, sitemaps, and other available resources. We know this is frustrating, and we deeply regret the impact on our community. We are taking steps with Xenforo Cloud to ensure this never happens again. This is work in progress. Thank you for your patience and support as we work through this.

In the meantime, feel free to join our Discord Server

Got the iPhone 14 Pro Max after having an 6+ from 2014-2021 and a 7+ from then until now. Huge difference. Love this phone

Congrats on the new acquisition. Fwiw, to me it makes more sense to upgrade every two years, as the phone is still new enough that the carriers will let you trade it in and get a new model free, or at least heavily discounted. An older phone has no trade-in value, so not upgrading costs far more in the long run. All the more so if also paying for spouse+kids.

Is anyone having this problem lately? As soon as I got my new phone every single new web page I load on HF sends me to another page asking if I want to disable my ad blocker. Every. Single. Time.

Every once in a while, my brain glitches and a word that's spelled correctly suddenly starts looking inexplicably weird, making me constantly second guess if I spelled it correctly or not.

Today, my brain starting thinking McLean is spelled incorrectly and I can't unsee that for the forseeable future. About a fifth of my loans involve McLean County collateral, so this is going to be a fun day or two.

Sad stuff. He was a fantastic dancer, and from everything I've heard a fantastic person. Talk and get help if you need it people.
