My Vizio crapped out so I got a $2k credit to go get a new one.

Why does TV buying have to be so difficult? I might go Sony this time around.

Oh yeah, it's a great thing, TV was a 2016 model, it's just shifting through every TV brand and having to pull the trigger on one.

I like Sony but do some research. There is a long discussion in the 4K thread. I picked up a Sony 65inch 4K HRD a couple years ago and wouldn't mind if it blew up so I can get an OLED. Love it though, I've had no issues with it.

Not a fan of Vizio.

I went and saw some TVs at Magnolia. The Samsung's looked sharp but horrible color/not vivid at all, the OLEDs are beautiful but I can't risk the burn in and the Sony x900f was my personal favorite. Not perfect, but I liked it a lot. Way better color than my Vizio.

I'm hoping that the new models drive down the 85" :DD

Should have worked from home today. I only didn't because of a new hire starting that needs me to provide his laptop and IT support. Odds are he doesn't start today, though. 8am and I'm the only person in the office. Took me an hour to go 16 miles with an AWD SUV. More so because of accidents and other people driving very, very slow. I may be leaving at some point here... depending on if this guy shows up.

I ordered a new LG tv last week on-line. Will be on pins and needles until it arrives and is up on the wall working like it should. Hopefully the extreme low temps across the midwest and east don't affect shipping.

I just grabbed an LG 65 inch 4k HDR at a great price. Love it so far. I've always liked LG's TVs.

Got this one a couple weeks ago, and it was $500 at the time.

Nice tv at a real good deal. I'm jealous. It's somewhat amazing what $500 will buy you now a days in TVs and computers. Gotta love technology when it works.

Yeah, we love it. Was an impulse buy because the $500 pricetag on it a couple weeks ago was hard to pass up. $300 off? Sold.

Upgraded my livingroom. I have a huge livingroom and the 50-55 (can't remember what size it is) inch wasn't cutting it. Nice thing is it sends the TVs down the line for the whole family. Our bedroom now has the 50 inch, our older daughter got the 40 inch class that was in our room, and then our younger daughter got the 32 inch for her wall, and we were able to get rid of her 20 inch brick CRT finally.

And yep, your money can go a long way if you're patient. I always wait a little bit for the newest technology. My buddy bought a 4k TV for like $1300, on sale, when they first came out. I waited, and got a better TV for $800 cheaper than he paid like 18 months ago.

I bought a 37” Vizio with my first railroad check in December of 10’ and the thing still works. Got a 55” Vizio in the living room. Very solid televisions.

I need to get a hitch installed. Is there any reason not to go to a U-Haul to purchase and have them install it?

Most people do, and I haven't heard any issues. It usually runs anywhere from $200-400, IIRC.

I bought mine online and installed it myself, as well as the wiring harness for the trailer lights. Cheaper that way, if you're comfortable working on cars.

I could probably do it, but it’s for my bikes so I don’t want to risk it.

Some dick bag homeless person broke my current bike rack that doesn’t require a hitch and still locks to the car not realizing he wasn’t going to be able to steal it.

I tow a boat, and did my own. Bikes? Meh. ;)

I would 100% do it myself if it were just for bikes. It's like 4 bolts. If you have a pneumatic impact gun, and a torque wrench to torque them to spec, that's all you need. Not worth it to have it installed if you don't even have to do a wiring harness.

We bought a Vizio about a year ago. The TV itself is fine but the built in smart tv software is complete ass. Not a huge deal since we have an Apple TV anyway but the built in software for with ours is so laggy it’s unusable.

I might have up to $25,000 in bikes on it at any given time that could all be destroyed in a snap.

I don’t trust myself.

And I don’t have those tools.

Yeah, if you don't have the tools, then get it installed. :thumbu:

Lots and lots of people use Uhaul. I was going to use them until I realized I could save $200 by doing it myself. Their prices are pretty solid.

101° fever for a toddler..... yay.....

Thankfully we have ready and willing grandparents able to step up nanny duties as he couldn't stay in daycare with that.

Damn right. And my parents are mid-move from the Champaign area to the Bloomington-Normal area to help with that (and for my mom to be close to her grandson) and my wife's parents life in a nearby small town. Incredibly fortunate in tat regard.
