Any word on whether there will be additional punishment for the hit on Myers?

Looked around, but haven't seen anything either way about whether the IIHF has looked or talked about looking further into the hit on Myers in the US/CND game. I'm not particularly worried, as I felt that the 5 minute major and game was probably sufficient for a bad hit, but it would be nice to know. One never really knows how the IIHF will come down on a play.

When Thurkauf was recently suspended, it was a headline on the news feed of the IIHF WJC page. The absence of any mention of a suspension this time around makes me think no supplemental discipline was handed out.

Ken Campbell: There will be no supplemental discipline for Luke Kunin of USA for hit on Philippe Myers. Kunin will be in the lineup for the qfinal today.

Why would there be? It was a big hit that ended poorly. I was shocked he got 5 and the game for a big hit.

Agree, but in these types of tournaments when player is hurt from a hard hit it usually ends up five and a game. But agree no supplemental discipline needed. Good hit ending bad for one, move on.

I am a team Canada fan, but I sure hope not that hit was clean. The 5 minutes was too much to begin with.

The original call was faithful to IIHF rules. That's where the problem lies.

Happy there was no suspension.
