No surprise here.

Per @FriedgeHNIC , Anthony Stewart (LAK) on waivers. #ManchesterCalling

I agree with Lisa, I think he will clear waivers and spend some time in Manchester.

Considering his cap hit and the fact he cleared waivers last year in Carolina, I'd surprised if he didn't clear this time as well.

How bad is he?
Can he play 4th line effectively?
Red Wings need some size on bottom 6.

Maybe something like Tootoo - Abderkader - Stewart?

Lol. He was with us for about a week and didn't play a game.

So the trade(the reason why he was included) was more for just freeing up contract for CAR?
Not really. It was a one-for-one contract swap with Westgarth going the other way. Carolina wanted added toughness, and the Kings wanted draft picks for Westgarth. They took Stewart so Carolina could clear a little cap space.

I think everyone saw this coming lol

If he clears (I think he does) I wonder where he'll play in Manchester current lines down there are:

Pearson-Vey-Toffoli
Meckler-Loktionov-Kozun
Andreoff-Cliche-O'Neill
Czarnik-Weal-Legein

My guess is on the Lokti/Kozy line. Hopefully he can play his off wing.

77 games played, averaged just over 8 minutes per game, and had 9 goals 20 points, and 30 PIM's. Seems like Carolina put him in almost every game last year on the hope that he might do something in that game, but when he wasn't bringing it, he was put at the end of the bench. Yet they continued to have him suit up every game. It's an odd stat line.

Not so sure about that. Weal has been red hot as of late, and so has that third line. Maybe fourth line for the time being?

IMHO, Stewart's size is an attempt to compensate Manchester for losing King & Nolan to the Kings.
