Some guys are solid in the AHL as Richard is but they simply can't make the next level. Richard I would wager would rather be a star in Laval than a nobody on a horrible NHL team.

the hype was real, the end result was predictable. Shows you how good Chefslafsky really is to hang in the NHL at his age, when these seasoned vets can't cut it. He had a sweet last name too.

It did say 2 weeks.

I wonder if this is just a paper transaction so they don't have to waive him again

Ridiculous. Richard makes $750,000 in the NHL and $300,000 in the minors. You think he'd rather remain in the AHL and leave $450,000 on the table?
Money wise you are right. I bet he will enjoy playing on a team where he is a star and a go to guy. I agree money wise 450K is huge but I think playing for Laval will be more enjoyable for him.

Probably less pressure and it's definitely more fun when you're scoring goals regularly. But he'd trade that for a one-way deal at league minimum in a heartbeat.

In open ice Richard’s skating made him look like an NHLer. But once he engaged with larger, stronger opponents, Richard was easily pushed off the puck, could never win puck battles and was a liability in the defensive zone. Richard’s skating , like Denis Boisvert and other smallish, quick players before him, has taken him farther than many other players. But with his limitations , Richard’s hockey journey inevitably ends at the AHL level.

I don't understand this post.

Do you want the best chance to get Bedard or don't you? If you do, you should be ecstatic about that development.

I don't know. Richard may disagree with you when he looks at his NHL pay cheque

The counter doesn't reset.

He played 7 games and was up for 24 days.

Players need to go through waivers again if they play 10 games or spend 30 days in the NHL.

So if Richard is called up, it doesn't restart the 10-game, 30-day counter again.

If he plays in 3 more NHL games or spends another 6 days on the NHL roster, he'll have to go through waivers again.
