If Tampa keeps Palat next season i think Cirelli could be moved to free up a bit of cap. Will be an RFA at the end of his contract and is a great Two-Way forward at 24 years old. what would be fair value at the draft for a player like Cirelli

1st in 10th - 15th range + 2nd or B level prospect??
Suppose to be a decent draft.

Still has 2 RFA years?
40ish pt guy with 50-55 pt potential
69 Playoff games
Plays C and still in mid 20s

I’d take a chance on him with the Avs. Maybe a change of scenery would do him some good.

Tampa, FL.
No chance Tampa is keeping Palat over him. Tampa will see if Palat is interested in staying for what they can realistically offer, and if not, depending on when negotiations take place and how the team is doing, Tampa will explore moving him at the tdl or just letting him walk. Unless Cirelli falls completely off a cliff, he's going nowhere. He also has had a solid start with 4 points in his first 5 games, so it's so far so good for him both offensively and with his usual defensive abilities.

Killorn+Cirelli+Cernak
For Eichel and Olofsson
Could retain 50% on Olofsson
Throw in Miller at 50% as well if you want.

I wouldn't be devastated with Hronek just looking at his stats but IDK much about him really. I don't know what the Avs have that is appropriate value+need for us. Strong young guys on ELC are always welcome. The earlyish 1st suggestion early in the thread wouldn't be terrible depending on the depth of the draft. Trading Cernak is a no-go unless we're adding to him for some young RD that no team would trade away.

I think it's a little early to even talk about this.

What are Tampa's needs? Toronto could put Robertson on the table to start or something else.

With Gourde and Johnson gone, Stamkos aging and limited depth in the minors at center I seriously don’t think Cirelli’s going anywhere. To replace him would be to take on additional cap space, something the lightning don’t have. Ross Colton would have to have a monster here this year and it’s too early to tell what that kid is capable of doing

Chytil + Hajek + pick for Cirelli

He's the exact player the Rangers are missing down the middle. Chytil is a cheaper and younger player with more offense to his game. Hajek can be an extra on defense. The pick would be anything except a 1st rounder.

Trading Cirelli reeks of how the Hawks dismantled their cup winning roster.

Death by a thousand cuts.

Yeah they still had Toews, Kane, Keith, and Crawford, but maaaan... its those depth guys that contributed in a major way.

I think a lot of teams would offer a 1st and a prospect. It would all depend on who offered the best combination of those two parts.

If I'm Edmonton, I offer our first, one of our top prospects (not Holloway, but I would consider anything else), and see if that's enough. That would make our C depth McDavid - Draisaitl/Nuge - Cirelli - Ryan.

Although in truth, I agree with those who think Tampa will keep Cirelli over Palat.

Chytil has a P/60 at 5v5 of 1.85 in the last 2 years. Cirelli is at 1.61. Chytil has more offense to his game. Cirelli is the more complete player.

Let's not even mention Cirelli plays predominantly with better players too. Killorn, Stamkos, Palat, and Johnson are the most common guys the last few years.

Chytil had Brett Howden, Kakko, and Lafreniere mostly. Had a good run with Kreider and Buchnevich in 19-20.

Cirelli has played with good veterans with a history of production. Chytil has had 1 combo with that and then was centering some very high end rookies, or was on the wing with one of the worst 5v5 forwards in the league in Howden.
