I really want Blake fired so I can use this:

It’s a special dose of pathetic to get clowned in a trade with a team which is a rural backwater. It’s one thing for a world class city to take a rare W versus a flyover state. It takes a true level of incompetence to look a near certain fool compared to a place most humans will never visit across multiple generations.

The truly sad thing is that the Kings would be better off if they had hired an actual hockey executive like the Jets GM instead of Rob Blake.

All Chevy needed was a sucker to unload PLD to and their name was the LA Kings. 🖕💩
What's really sad is that we couldn't get the same value back for him, which is understandable after last year and that stupid contract Blake gave him. Same thing is going to happen with Fiala if he agrees to waive his NMC.

Tomight I let my uncaring neglectful boob of a spouse, the LA Kings, fall asleep drunk in front of the TV (again). I’ll be out “running some errands,” and meeting the Columbus Blue Jackets at the holiday inn.

You made me do this. They don’t make me laugh, but they don’t make me cry either.

For what it’s worth, PL still looks like the exact same player that drove us all nuts last year, roses from the press or not.

How can the Kings pro scouting be so poor, that they didn’t see this coming at all? It’s weaponized incompetence.
Blake is an easy mark in the eyes of other GM's, simple as. The Faber and Vilardi deals sealed it, it's clear he can get hustled out of key assets for little in return...

You know how they say the greatest players or best GMs can see things in 4D/5D that others can't. Well Blake as a GM sees things in 1D. He's a complete simpleton. He's the freaking Mayor of Simpleton.

Interesting. RHD. If the Kings, maybe Drew’s return is now seen as longer. Jiricek is 21. #6 OA 2022.
I would think he’s going to ANA or OTT, before the Kings. What if Zegras for Jiricek?
To Kings? Maybe Arty, Spence?

no way would blake trade for someone that young
Only ones that come to mind: Braden McNabb (think he was AST Gm then) and Portillo. Madden in Toffoli package.

Edit. And Durzi , Grundstrom. But they and Madden were the rebuild. Jiricek seems more like an Anaheim target and to end the Zegras ongoing saga. But maybe they have to add or take some of Zegras contract ?

Jiricek didn't want to play in the AHL & CBJ vets were mad about his defensive play at NHL level. Don't see how it would be a fit for the King's. If CBJ wanted Spence & Kaliyev ok, but they're getting better offers I'm sure.

Risto on the other hand is looking really tempting after that San Jose game.

The Kings could just get Provorov from CBJ, they’re already paying him 2.1 M this year.

NYR rumors galore: Trouba, Kreider and Kakko.
The confounding thing with the Kings, is after all these years, still don’t have clear #2, 3 centers despite drafting Turcotte, Byfield etc. even Gabe and Kupari were drafted as centers. Phil was fine his first 3 yrs, but no longer a second center.

When they slotted Helenius as #3 and tried Laf at center at practice this week, shows how bad it is.
QB not taking a step from last yr is a huge problem. Center pipeline not so good. Pinellli not really emerging . Jack Hughes probably doesn’t get a contract. 0 goals at BU in his 4th yr college is putrid.

NYR fans saying Kakko was tried at center & looked decent the last game or two. Might be worth a shot. If he's good at center, maybe NYR is rethinking moving him.

Jiricek, 2 years left on ELC solves the cap issue for Blake adding another D. Just seems crazy. Blake likes crazy. Still 70:30 Ducks or someone else.

Edit: don't see much else on NYR that would help right now. Some good pieces, but too much cap.
