Hiller is clearly more concerned about righting the flawed early season structure than he is in chasing goals.

Let's face it, the results won't be any different anyway.

Win loss win loss win loss win loss win win(progress! We are right there!) loss.

Last year in AHL, who scored more goals?
Thomas, Lee, Helenius combined
Or
Fagemo!

Points aren't going to keep Clarke in the lineup.

Blake, except for the tear down, has constantly been on the hunt for big names. Is this a new phase where he's sitting back or is he out there still looking for that big splash?
No matter how many goals he scores AHL, Fagemo is just not good enough to play in the NHL. He's a tweener, like many of the really good guys in the AHL. He just doesn't do enough at this level when he isn't scoring to make him stick.

Doesn't matter how many times you say this, guys who live in fantasy land won't believe it, they believe that lower level scoring will always translate to the higher level, scorer in OHL = scorer in AHL = scorer in NHL and anyone who doesn't see that doesn't know hockey

The Stanley Cup
As per the Athletic--the stat is even WORSE than last year

we are 2-7 vs. teams over .500
Not much better but it's 2-5, not 2-7.

Los Angeles Kings

A 2-5-0 record against over .500 teams: The Kings have collected points over the first quarter of a schedule that’s been road-heavy with 12 of their first 18 games away from Crypto.com Arena, but it’s also been rather light on facing top-tier competition. And they haven’t fared too well when running up against better teams. Wins over Vegas and Minnesota — their best two victories — are the only ones they have in seven games against squads that have a points percentage better than .500. Though a 10-7-3 mark in their first 20 is certainly passable, their lack of notching many triumphs against quality clubs speaks to a team that’s still a couple of sizable steps away from being among the elite. Upcoming home games versus Winnipeg, Dallas and Minnesota will serve to help measure whether they’re an adequate bunch or something more. — Eric Stephens

Here’s a couple hot takes.

Brandt Clarke tops out as a pretty ok 2nd pairing defenseman that leaves you wanting more.

Byfield is either a Pretty ok first line winger or a 3rd line center.

Disagree on Clarke, I think it's pretty clear they've put the harness on him and are squelching his abilities

On Byfield, I think it's just his 'sophomore slump,' but he's starting to look to me like a guy who will have inconsistencies throughout his career with high highs and low lows, he's just too affected by things like injuries, sickness, getting banged up, and clearly confidence. Like how many times can you lose 20lbs in a season?
