I went with Red Savage.

I don't expect him to be more than a role player in the NHL but he seems to be the kind of guy that would be one of the better role players in the NHL. Very good wheels and jack russel terrier energy on the forecheck. I can see him turning into a Luke Glendening type checking center.

Savage. Red MFing Savage.

I've seen enough of him and have liked what I've seen enough to put him over the rest of the field. While I'm interested in guys like Lombardi and Johansson, I just haven't see enough of them. Viro has no carrying tool. McIsaac is a quad-A player. Mastrosimone's trajectory has nosed down. Tuomisto's skates are made of mercury. Bednar is a shooter tutor. Zito is a poor wager. And Hanas is a smooth brain.

"Smooth brain" :laugh::laugh::laugh:

To be fair, the kid is from Plano/Lewisville/Highland Village area of Texas; wealthy north Dallas suburbs. That's an area where 99% of the population suffer the disease of affluence.

No doubt. I have to tread carefully here so as not to get warned about certain taboo subject matter. But my 'smooth brain' comment has more to do with Hanas's..... "belief" system.

Oh I understood the reference. I'll say this - he's an idiot kid and that "belief" system is very prevalent where he's from and likely learned it from his parents or peers and their parents. It shouldn't be that big a surprise that a kid raised in a wealthy suburb, growing up playing a sport that costs more than most car payments per month to facilitate would have these leanings. Especially in this area.

So a Bertuzzi situation, gotcha.

Eh...I don't know. Hanas is just a rich kid that likes questionable things on twitter. Bertuzzi doesn't know the difference between there, their and they're, two, to and too.

Their is a lot too what your saying they're.

I don't know if they're still up, but when I scrolled through Bertuzzi's instagram a while back the constant typos in his captions made me cringe. It was like 13 year old AOL instant messanger typing. Do u no wat im saying?

I've got nothing against the kid, I hope he works out. I just haven't seen anything from him that makes me think he has NHL ability in him, and I had to spear him a little bit in order to prop up Savage :naughty:

Voted McIsaac. You've gotta give him some credit for having a fairly productive year after his constant injury battles. Probably not going to make the NHL in anything more than a depth role, and maybe not with us, but he's proven quite a bit more than a lot of the unknowns left.

Judging somebody based on where they come from, always one of my favorite keyboard warrior moments...

If you wouldn't want someone to do it to you, don't do it to them.

My problem with Hanas, is I don't think he is going to check well enough to endear himself to a coaches. He will have to really show something in GR that way. He has good hands, is a good passer, but he is the kind of guy that usually gets washed out by not being exceptional at any one thing in my opinion. He shows some nice flashes though, shame we didn't change the GR staff or I would probably have a little more hope in terms of that first year of pro being pretty important.

Hopefully he's better than Mastrosimone, but I wouldn't bet on either of them being top 9 forwards.
