Andrew MacDonald named Alternate Captiain

The New York Islanders announced today that Andrew MacDonald has been named an alternate captain. MacDonald joins fellow alternate captain Kyle Okposo, and team captain John Tavares.

Me too, but like mentioned above, you couldn't really go wrong with any one of Frans/AMac/Hammer.

Snow has shown a lot of faith in Amac and must like him a lot. I must admitto eing a little surprsed atths but he may be more of a locker room guy than we know

I suspect that his pending UFA may have played into this decision a little bit. Snow might figure Mac would have less trouble accepting the Island discount if he is shown that he's respected, that he's a special player for this organization. . Hammer got his deal, so he can wait a year or two for an A, which I would assume he will get soon.

So long as Snow is not giving out NTC/NMC, I have no complaint with extending MacDonald.

I totally agree with you. If we sign Amac for 4 years at 4M each, we can totally trade him in 2 years for a nice return if the kids kick him out.

Moulson.... Well if Bailey can play top line with JT I could see Bailey JT Strome as our top line.

I just worry we might get too thin on the wings. Vanek is UFA next season and then Bobby Ryan (he won't make it). So it'll be interesting to see what happens.

I thought it was going to be Hamonic, but I'm not surprised by Amac. The players have mentioned that he is very vocal on the bench/ice.

It will never happen. It is Yashin all over again. Wang signs a high end center, then surrounds him with flawed wings. Somethings never change.
