Getzlaf, Selanne, Kariya are automatic. Its tough after that. I voted Perry because he fits in with the first 3 for length time played their and value to the team but can see JSG, Niedermayer or Pronger in the fourth spot. They dont win the cup without any of those 3 guys. All of the newer players can be removed from the choices.

Selanne, Kariya, Getzlaf, Giguere.

Nearly missed Kariya in the list, somehow. So I nearly voted for Perry. I also considered Neidermayer. But I'm pretty confident in the 4 I picked.

This looks right to me.

Nieds would be 5. Perry would be 6. Pronger 7.

Geeez, that last one is a doozy. For me, Selanne, Kariya, and Niedermayer are pretty locked in. Perry or Getzlaf though? I could easily go either way.

1. Selanne
2. Getzlaf
3. Perry
4. Kariya

Niedermayer and Giguere honorable mentions.

A player who played 13 of his 18 NHL seasons with another organization just does not beat out Perry or Getzlaf to me.

Yeah. I definitely thought about that. It's the same reason i didn't even consider Pronger here. I don't know why, but i still just view Niedermayer as a Duck for some reason.

Selanne, Getzlaf, Kariya, then I waffled between Giguere and Niedermayer. I see now I'm not the only one.

Perry slightly over Giguere for me. Basically both had 1 stellar season but I think Perry was more consistent.

Ducks get Washington, Jefferson, Teddy Roosevelt and Lincoln just like everyone else. What makes them so special?

My Best-Carey

Kariya Getzlaf Selanne and Perry.

Selanne and Getzlaf should be voted in by everybody

I went with Kariya (top 5 favorite player ever for me, I acknowledge bias on my part) and Giguère (need a goaltender at least, and Giguère's run is the stuff that legends are made off)

In the future Gibson could take Giguère's spot and Kariya could be replaced by Perry I guess?

But Selanne and Getzlaf must be there

Selanne, Getz, Perry, and Giguere. All four won the Cup as Ducks.

The Twins of Getz and Perry should always be together for how long they played together, which was 14 years. Teemu put in 15 years with the Ducks, 6 years with Kariya and 9 years without Kariya. Giguere and Kariya played 9 years with the Ducks.

As for accolades (excluding HoF)

Selanne: Cup, Calder, Richard, Masterson
Getzlaf: Cup
Perry: Cup, Richard, Hart
Giguere: Cup, Smythe
Kariya: Byng

When Kariya did see the playoffs, it was because Giguere broke his back carrying the team to game 7 of the Cup finals and won the Smythe for it. Kariya decided to pursue his own goals after that Cup final run by signing with the Avs for $1.2 mil. That $1.2 mil low contract allowed Kariya to be free agent after that season. Giguere eventually won the Cup with Ducks.

PK Getzlaf Teemu Jiggy. I don’t think you can remove any of those four, even though it’s tempting to consider Perry or Niedermayer.

Getzlaf has more of a case than PK and arguably Teemu also, he shouldn’t be on the cusp with Perry. Spent his whole career here, led the cup winning team in scoring and holds all time franchise records for games played, assists and points and I believe he owns franchise playoff records for every offensive category.

Not to mention he pretty much has had just as much Hart consideration as Teemu and PK did when they were in Anaheim uniforms.

Would having Pronger + Niedermayer for being so good in 2007 be ridiculous? Not gonna tell Ducks fans how to feel but that was a really impressive level of play from those two. It was legendary and IMHO trumps whatever longevity based legacy you’d get from some of the other mentions. The 2007 Ducks team is frequently referenced as one of the better or sometimes best post lockout team, Pronger and Niedermayer were a huge reason.
