If you want a positive spin - Trouba should be a better fit for the roster, the financial considerations don't really matter and the term is equal. So we essentially gave up two 4ths and Vaak to upgrade from Fowler to Trouba, with a bonus 2nd rounder coming in the future.

I’m hoping Trouba bounces back, to a solid D. He is not playing under the toxic environment of the NY media and NY Fans. That really got to him. Any human being would be affected by that garbage.

Yeah I think he's bumbling the Ducks biggest advantage and asset which is cap space in a cap strapped league, while in a vacuum I don't mind the Fowler deal that much but this combined with Trouba and his very questionable trades and signings make me wonder if this guy is the right guy for the job.

Cam was a great player for us on some very good teams. He's fallen off and it was time to move on but it sucks to see him go. Wish him all the best in STL and he better get a long standing ovation when he comes back here.
Sometimes players just need new scenery. Happens all the time.

9 games could mean the difference in getting a deal done or not, 9 games is a lot for a team that has playoff aspirations if they think Fowler can actually help them, especially for the Blues who are banged up on the left side
Listen, cam has been bad this year, really bad, BUT, the "Fowler sucks" brigade has been one of the most weirdly emotional, nonsensical (and loud) factions this board has ever seen. That finnish vatanen guy level weird.
Maybe chill on the "don't be emotional about cam leaving" bits, that's hysterically unself-aware.
