Though this appears to be a fanboy reunion trade, I think this is the realistic type of trade that Fitz can make at the TDL. Fitz recently said he doesn't like to make additions to the team in the middle of seasons, but rather, add in the summer. For obvious reasons, I think this could be an exception. It won't be hard for Henrique to settle in and fit in. Though Henrique is playing on the first line with the Ducks, he definitely fits in the third line role as a LW or C, which appears to be a line that is not rolling like the others in NJ.

What would it cost with 50% retention to get Henrique to NJ?

Love Henrique, but just don't see a fit right now. He and his wife just had their first kid last week, so I would be a little surprised if they wanted to move already. Henrique has a partial NTC, but it could block most of the league if he selected the correct 10 teams.

When Palat is back the lineup looks full:

Palat-Hughes-Bratt
Tatar-Hischier-Zetterlund
Sharangovich-Haula-Mercer
Wood-McLeod-Bastian
Johnsson-Boqvist-Holtz

Maybe this would be more of a conversation in the offseason when Haula and Tatar are UFAs.

Unless Sharangovich can't figure it out, or Palat can't play, they don't really need him even though I love the idea of having Rico back.

I mean i dont mind the idea from Anaheim... if Devils find themselves wanting to buy a little vet expierence/depth for a potential playoff birth... Or like others have suggested in the offseason, if devils are looking for cheaper depth(i imagine anaheim would be willing to retain on henrique. Doesnt really look like devils have cap dumps to potentially move to give anaheim more value tho.

Henrique at 3 mil

Can the Ducks even trade half his cap without taking back equal cap?

No issue with this though.

Hypothetically the Devils would have to send somebody over. CapFriendly has us dipping ~1.2 million into LTIR. Offhand, New Jersey could send back Andreas Johnsson who has a 3.4 mil cap hit but is making the league minimum for the season (assuming his signing bonus was paid in one installment). During the offseason I thought one of the cap floor teams might be interested since he'd take up a chunk of cap space at minimal actual dollars.

But for all parties, maybe this is a better offseason proposal. Henrique at 50% would be a great Haula replacement next year.

Sounds like a perfect guy to come back to the Ducks.

Ducks are lacking capable Top6 wingers tho, so this would for sure leave a hole in our team, but given the standings.... this might be the year, lol.
Rico is awesome, he got a lot of bad rep, I think too much of it. He has had some lackluster stints tho, that hasn't helped it, but when he's on, he's a great piece on any line and can take some tough faceoffs, and play LW or C. Also seems to be a good leader. I think he will be a great addition to a playoff team weather it happens this, or likely next season.

I don't know if I really want to do it this year but it's something I definitely want next year. Would love to at least make the move this offseason and have him replace Haula
