You boy Bobrov was all about it too.
Awful hit. No excuses.
Height differential shouldn't matter. If you're that much taller than the competition, you are taught to control your height better.
The gap between Laf & him is way bigger than some people like to think it is. Sure Byfields younger but a full year ago Laf was the most dominant player in the whole tournament by a country mileIs Byfield even playing?

It was never about Laf vs Byfield today. There’s no question Laf is significantly better today.
The excitement about Byfield is always about what he can be.
Regardless, he was crap at the WJC last year and the fact that he hasn’t stepped up this year is concerning.
He's got a rep, even if unfair, for being underwhelming internationally.
Put me down as one of the people who doesn't believe he'll ever live up to the hype. Great size and tools, but the computer isn't up to par with the other top guys.
Love that hit!!!!! Kronwalled baby! Big player hitting shorter guy. Wasnt late at all, lined him up and blew him up. I’ll glady take that suspension.
Well put , agree completely. It's a 2 minute penalty in the NHL.
You can argue whether or not it was necessary but it wasn't a super dirty blind side late hit and really just a matter of a much bigger guy hitting a smaller guy as you mentioned.
Under IIHF rules, thats a game misconduct every day but I think the guy didn't miss a shift so it really should just stop there.
I do want to mention that had he wanted to, Schneider could have really hurt that guy.
