chevy getting calls on mcgroarty, either a draft pick prospect young player
getting calls on ehlers
no rush on either player
still working with monahan camp
Good to hear

I have a feeling that we roll into camp with Ehlers still on the team. Chevy had no problem doing it with Helle and Schief last year, and they were bigger trade pieces

Speculated trade: San Jose Sharks, Winnipeg Jets Trade Rumor: McGroarty for Ferraro?

SJ / Wpg

The speculated trade framework would see the Sharks sending defenseman Mario Ferraro and their 2025 first-round pick (originally belonging to the Vegas Golden Knights) to Winnipeg. In return, the Jets would receive veteran defenseman Nate Schmidt and, of course, Rutger McGroarty.
Barf.

Ferraro and Buffalo's pick OK. Jets can add Vesalainen or Kupari or...

Not easy losing a parent
Especially when you are relatively young
Yeah if Morrissey is granted the same considerations for his terrible 2-3 years IMO it's a bit unfair not to grant similar for Laine.

He was solid for 21-22 and 22-23 in CBJ. Idk how much can be made out of this year though with al that went on :dunno:

CBJ would have to retain heavily though. Maybe even take back a contract too.

SJ traded up in the draft already. did this really happen?

View attachment 888221

I find it interesting if true, because 2 of the 3 teams McIntyre says to watch are SJ and Buffalo. Why would SJ move up in the draft (or Buffalo down) before seeing what is there?? Unless the pick is on the move in another trade?
My thought exactly.

11 + Ferraro for McGroarty + Iafallo

I knew they'd make a push for Monahan I expect they'll sign him. Same for Ehlers they aren't going to just give up on him.

Not Cowumbus, but I'll give my few cents.

He was okayish at center, meaning not a disaster. Just get him players who can zone entry so he doesn't try and dangle himself a zone entry. Has taken huge steps forward in two-way play, especially after playing center. Better in faceoffs than Jack Hughes but that ain't much to write home about.

Had most success in CBJ playing wing with Nyquist whose game has similarities with Ehlers and Jenner who is a grindy center that plays deep in the offensive zone.

Powerplay during his Columbus tenure has been mostly meh, aside from when Boqvist has been on same pp as qb.
So basically the same as Scheifele

He may not have signed it but he would be trading for it...

You would be okay with Scheif or Helle or KFC etc... getting pissed off because Helle is making more than any of them?
It's hard to see anyone (maybe KFC) getting more than what Scheif and Helle are making for the near future.

I mean the org had no issue paying a one dimensional scorer in KC roughly a million more then Scheifele for 5 straight years.

The org also didn't have an issue paying Schmidt more then every dmen on this roster sans JoMo to play on the third pairing.

So no I don't have an issue with Laine having a cap hit of $200k more. Also in terms of actual dollars Scheifele is making roughly a million more each year.

Laine at centre is like schief without the stellar defense lol

Just put his ass back at the PP spot. 8 million + PP specialist

I actually liked Monahan. Smart player.

Smart, good in a sheltered role, just soft and slow. Imagine Monahan on the Oilers or the Panthers doing anything. I can't. His ass would be in the PB.

Same with toffoli. You need a system designed around him which we did not have. Monahan the sam but can fit in a bit atleast
