There’s no point worrying about Moore right now. You know who has a similar skill set?Brandon Hagel. And he’s doing pretty great last I checked. Not everyone steps into the NHL and immediately lights it up and that’s okay, he’s got plenty of time to grow his game.

Nazar the points are important to see and great with less opportunity than some thought he was gonna be given. He's an all offense player and older now so he should be producing.

Moore is a defensive center with that drive and speed. He is not expected to be lighting it up as a freshman. I don't see how someone can be thinking freshman Moore and Rinzel are supposed to be lighting it up. They're 2way longer term guys who are types if they hit are great all around players.

Dach's both seem to lack training and both are rarely prepared . Injury after Injury, a joke.

Alex Pharand looks like a horrendous pick. 4 points in 17 games in the OHL. Trending down pick from start to end of last year. Big guy and power forward that had always had a bottom six ceiling but now looking more like an AHL 4th line ceiling.

Yeah he hasn't produced at all. I think that is going to happen when you just chase skating. I hope they readjust their philosophy a bit.

Is he having a poor start or is he not producing? Isn't he a big 2way player?

His scouting reports said he has suspect skating.

It’s a fourth round pick. Just a fact that you’re going to miss on most of those.
True, though I think there were better bets to take.

Pharand didn't produce. Even role players produce in juniors.

Luca Pinelli, while small, was good for the 67s.

We should've drafted a defenseman, and Aram Minnetian is a RHD that could've been a long term bet.

And then I was really high on Thomas Milic who had an outstanding season.

Not to agree with Musto too much but I was more than happy to take Cristall at 35. He's off to another insane start.

Watching him, yeah like the skating isn't good. Everything else is just elite and he seems to understand the game so well. Its just hard to put up the numbers he did, in the games he played, as a 17 year old, and not be a player.

People only wanted to listen to the weird narratives that developed in the media.

Cristall on pace for 125 points.

We know he can produce points. But is he actually going to be better than a low tier Dylan Strome.

Debrincat comparisons ignore Cat was never considered slow, he wasn't a burner. Cat was short, but not timid. He tried defensively and was fisty. I know some say Cristall has an attitude but it's not like he's a battler. Of course Musto would love a small dylan strome.

But prospects like this... what's the point in saying they're scoring a lot? That's not their issue. If he is skating great or dominating on a PK, fixing the flaws, then it would look good

Not every player PKs. Or even defends all that well. Patrick Kane blew the zone for 15 years and is going in the hall.

I'm not saying Cristall is Kane but there is room for players that score like that. Maybe it won't translate, wouldn't have minded the gamble at 35 with three 2nd round picks.

For all we know, Cristall will turn into the other, more often forgotten Hawk named Dylan, Dylan Sikura. A lot of tools, but too small and soft and not fast enough to make up for it in the NHL.

Certainly possible. Cristall scoring 90 points in the WHL at 17 certainly bodes better than a guy who didn’t score at all until much later in his career.

Cristall is one of those guys where until he does it, doesn’t really matter. Lane Hutson is similar for me.

He has well known deficiencies in his game. Whether he can make it work in the NHL, we won’t know until we see it.

For me, his skating issues are just a big question mark on how his game translates with much less room. At least with Benson, his high motor makes up for this.

In fairness to Pharand, Sudbury has had him predominantly on the 3rd line so he hasn't gotten any chance to play with skilled players.

But I will say I would've definitely taken Florian Xhekaj over him for example who went two picks later to the Habs.
